When should you post a request for renting DVC?

There was a thread a few days ago about renters and rentees and it didn't answer all of my questions...I don't want to be a pest...I want to be informed. We want to rent a studio in late October and early November....I watch the rent/trade boards quite a bit and I am getting a little nervous, due to the fact that I will not have all of the funds until the mid part of May. This will put us 5 months out and I want to make sure that we will be able to get a studio at either BWV or BCV...is this too late? Do you as renters work with rentees and let them give you so much now and pay the final part later, or do you expect full payment at time of reservation...we have some funds available now and I want to make sure we get a room(we are celebrating our 1st anniversary). I am sorry for the long post I did a search and didn't find the answers I needed. TIA!

It may already be too late but you never know until you try. The period you want is during the food and wine festival, which is a popular time at both the BCV and BWV. And since you are inside the 7 month window, the reservation is available to anyone from any DVC resort. You should post your request as soon as possible and work out the details of the rental so you don't have to be paid in full until after you have your money in May. Just let the person you rent from that that's what you will need to do up front.
