"Right now, flying out of buffalo...jet blue for 4 at the end of sept is around 1600.00..would you wait? SW isn't much cheaper...

I was listening to CNN the other day and they said for domestic flights, historically you'll find your best rates 3 months before you travel. Not sure if I'd take this as gospel, but it's rung fairly true for most of my travel looking back. Also, if booking online book Tuesdays at 3pm, apparently that has the lowest rates....I don't remember why. I don't make the news, I just report it :confused3

Also check flights from Syracuse and Rochester, if you are close enough to fly from either airport (not sure of your exact location). We often find better prices from Syracuse than from Buffalo.

Our flights are August 26th and September 2 (Sun-Sun).

We booked in mid-January at $868 taxes in. Direct flights both directions via JetBlue.

Same flights today are $1345. We have been watching a steady trend UP in price ever since booking.

JetBlue has had a couple of one-day sales over the past few months. Most applicable travel periods were within 45 days of the one-day sale. I would say book whenever you find a price you can live with. Definitely seeing a huge hike in flight costs from our January trip, which was booked last August. Also remember......with JetBlue, you can be issued a credit for the price difference if the cost goes down after booking.

Just checked AC YYZ-MCO 9/22-29 is $1630 taxes in (using the $139 base fares). Unless it's an optional trip I set an "acceptable" fare range and book.

Checking seat availability may help you decide whether or not to gamble on lower fares to come. YMMV

Not sure if hubby would want to try and find other airports near the border (dont need to worry about crossing and finding airports..hahahha).

We live in Hamilton...so, going to buffalo isnt far...no idea how much further Saracuse would be.

Maybe we will wait another month (we are leaving in Sept...so, we have plenty of tme!)

Wow thats a lot. Why don't you check Southwest. We are going oct 14-20 and have alreaedy booked and it was just under $900 roundtrip. Plus you get 2 free checked bags. For the price with Jetblue you could almost fly from Canada.

I agree with the PP. Try Southwest. When I thought our Sept 2012 trip was on, Southwest was much cheaper then JetBlue for us this year! :thumbsup2

Plus the Southwest direct flight time had the added bonus of not needing to stay overnight in Buffalo before the flight! We would have left the van at the airport parking and maybe stayed overnight on the way back.

I booked my flight for August a couple of months ago for $140 each way with SWA out of Buffalo. Hubby and I just decided to do a last minute trip the end of May, and after booking at $126 each way, they dropped to $105 for two days - I would wait and just watch religiously like I do. At least with SWA we can book, then if they go down even more, we get credits for our next trip with no penalties for changing!

We are flying out end of Sept as well, I have been checking prices for a while and I am wondering if I missed out. They started out at 144 each way and have only gone up. Last year we paid 100 each way so I though I would wait for fares to go down, but it doesn't look good. Heres hoping for better rates.
