When should we go?

My husband and I just got back from WDW and I was overwhelmed by the large crowds. For our next trip we are thinking about going Oct 06 maybe the 3rd or 4th week of the month. What do you all think? Is that generally a good time to go? We would like to go when the kids are in school so maybe the crowds will be less. (not our kids, cause we don't have any, just kids in general) Thanks in advance for the advice! :)

blue eyes, we went the week of October 16 of 2003, the Food and Wine Festival at Epcot is During October and it maybe more crowded then in the past.

It was more crowded then we expected due to Columbus Day holiday, but by Wednesday of that week it was much less crowded.

I am sorry you were overwhelmed. I have heard a good time to go is the week before Thanksgiving and the week after Thanksgiving to the middle of December. By then the Christmas decorations are out.

You hit the nail right on the head. I went with DH in September of 2003...WOW...walked right onto most rides. September is THE time of the year to go...if you can stand the heat and humidity, that is. :teeth:

Go in early December low crowds and weather is nice.Plus you can go to Candlelight Processional see Osbourne Lights attend MVMCP and see all the holiday decorations. The resorts and parks are awesome decked out for the holidays. We love going this time of the year, have been first part of December each year since 1992.Going this year Dec 4th -12th can hardly wait. :goodvibes :wizard: :)

I can't really imagine that while school is in that Disney would be that crowded. I don't have kids and love to go so I know that all of us with out kids can go at anytime.

May I please ask you how the weather was then? This queation is for a family who likes the heat, but will be only be able to go in Dec. How cold does it get in early Dec?

The weather for us is great,in the early am when you start touring it is most time in high 50's to low 60's with same temps after sun goes down.During the day mid 70's are most common. With this said temps can vary from downright cold to hot.We always dress in layers so we can add or take off a item of clothing to match temp. Most times we wear jeans and t-shirt,have sweat shirt and light jacket we can add or take off.We rent locker at each park to have storage for extra clothes and gifts we buy during day.I hope this helps, you can PM for futher information if you like.
