I get so confused about this. I check in a week from today. Should I call now with a room request? Help!

You can make your requests when you make your reservation, or any time after that. No need to wait till it's close to your trip.

Be sure to do it soon so that the requests are there. In some instances resorts may look at occupancy/requests prior to check-in so it is good to have them there as soon as you can.

I don't know what resort you are staying at, but it was recommended that I fax the room request to the poly a week prior to our arrival.

We went the week of august 25th and stayed at port orleans riverside- I called two days in advance to verify my reservation and asked for a certain location. When we arrived my request was granted and i was very happy about that. good Luck.pirate: pirate: pirate: pirate:

Very few if any resorts are looking at faxs these days. To many people sending them in for the room controller to look at.
Also most rooms are assigned 3-4 days before you arrive so it's best to make your requests at the time you make your ressie, then you should get most of them.

First time at Port Or - Riverside...we'd appreciate any tips on best, good buildings/rooms to request...we're taking our friends and their 2 kids, who've never been to Disney period. They tend to be slightly impatient, i know i can't make the trip perfect, but would love to be near to center/bus without too much noise, suggestions??

Yes the soon the better. Because you never know what else is going on at your Resort. There maybe some event going and Disney will try to keep them all together.

We always stay in the AB section. We like Bldg 15 and 18 as they are close to the main building (food court), bus stop and it isn't too far to walk to the pool -- plus there is a quiet pool close by. It also depends on whether or not you prefer the rustic theme or the 'regal' mansion theme. Both rooms are same size but the inside decor and outside landscaping are quite different.

Yes. In all sincerity, I suggest requesting rooms "Near the main building and the bus in a quiet area", or whatever order is most important to you.
