When should I book for January 12th 2020?

myself, dh and two adult dd's are going to Universal and Disney in January, I think on the 12th. I have not booked either and now that Disney prices for 2020 are out I am unsure how to move forward...….Should I book soon or will there be any discounts coming out? Or maybe some travel sites will have good package discounts. If I don't book soon could I lock myself out of certain resorts? So many questions that I should have thought of and asked before go time.

Yesterday, really. I would not expect discounts for January 12, as the Disney Marathon is January 8-12. I would expect the 12th to be a tight booking, although people may be leaving the 13th and that open stuff up.

Since Galaxy's Edge is opening I would not expect many discounts. Book now.

I would book now to get the room category and resort you want. It is marathon weekend so it is a busier time for the resorts. If discounts or any other incentives open up you can always cancel or just modify your current reservation. It really isn't any real commitment to book now. It only ensures you have your room.

As a slight side note. I booked our rooms at universal well over a year out, i kept looking to see if the room prices would come down at all and they didn't. So i was glad that i book that far in advance and secured a good price.
