When renting points, when the point value is for Sunday - Thursday <m>

do you actually have to rent enough for 5 nights? Can the reservation be for only 4 nights? I'm trying to plan some time at WDW before our Disney cruise, which leaves on a Thursday. I'm sorry to ask something this dumb!
