I just thought of a few my family says:
Skyool instead of school
deeshes instead of dishes
deevorce instead of divorce (makes sense, see above)
My friend lived on Custer Street but always called it Custard. Drove me nuts.
My mom pronounces diabetes like dia bee tus.
I call an attorney a lawyer, as in loy-yer. She calls it a law-yer as in someone who practices "law." Her pronunciation sounds better to me, but I can't change now, I'm too old.
We had a pastor who always called it a burt-day instead of birthday.
When Princess Di was killed, my friend kept saying it was the fault of the "pots er atzi's." My other friend finally corrected her and she said "papparazi" once, then went back to calling it "pots er atzi's." It reminded me of being hounded by a bunch of Potsie's from Happy Days.
