it does sound rather "glass is half-empty", doesn't it? unfortunately, DH doesn't have a new job. so many people have been laid off or lost their jobs in this area, there aren't any jobs to be had. we're still hopeful he'll be recalled soon. my grandmother gave us an old tv that was in her spare bedroom, so we can still watch tv.
