When it comes to Disney, anyone else indecisive?

I originally booked a MYW package for June 18-25 at CBR. Then, I started doing research and found these boards and learned of the different discounts. We are going back in Mar 2006, so decided the AP route was the way to go. Thus, the first change. I moved us to BWV. Then, I started thinking about the money and how we could enjoy more if we didn't have such an expensive room. So, I called again. At this point, my choices for AP discount were ASMu, AKL and the Honeymoon Suite at WL. Well, WL was immediately out of the question because it was more than BWV. I really wanted AKL, but since my goal was to save money, I opted for ASMu. Well, that set well with me for about......a day. I had changed my ressie from a Home Away from Home resort to a value resort. So, I called again. This time, I'm staying at ASMu for the first four nights and then moving to AKL for the last three nights. Ahh, better. Not perfect, but better. I really wanted POR for the first four nights, but they were booked. I had checked on POR several times and they were booked for the week we were there. I had said I was not going to change the ressie again. I had changed them enough. Well, on my way to work this morning, I got the urge to call...just one more time. ;) You know what, it worked!!! POR was available! Now, after many, many changes, I am extremely satified with our ressies. The first four nights at POR, and the last three nights at AKL, savannah view. :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

I really want this vacation to be great. Just as not to cause an uproar, there is nothing wrong with a value resort. We stayed at All Star Sports last time and had a blast. We said then that next time, we wanted to try an upgrade. This will be the last vacation for many years my DH and I have alone together. When we return in Mar, we will be bringing our then DD2 with us. Our first time as parents in Disney...kinda scary, kinda exciting

So, even tho' I changed our ressie several times, the outcome is that I am now happy and very excited. We're going to be staying at two great places and saving over $1500 by changing our ressie from BWV to our current ressie. Can't wait! Now, I just hope Disney doesn't put a negative code next to our name for changing so much. :goodvibes

oh my...I have changed mine so many times....I think everyone that works there has talked to me at least once!!! ;)

There is a term for this problem, many of us suffer from it on this board, "Resort Anxiety Disorder". It's hard to pick a resort with so many wonderful choices and then you stress that you won't pick the "perfect" one and so on!

You are not alone! I've never changed my reservations as much as I have this time.

1st decision: July 3, 4, and 5 - HRH
July 6and 7 - Nick Hotel
July 9-19- Grand Floridian

2nd decision: June 28 and 29 - Nick Hotel
June 30-July 3- YC
July 4-15- Grand Floridian

3rd decision: June 29 & 30 - Nick Hotel
July 1-12- GF
July 13-16- YC

4th decison: June 29 * 30 - Nick Hotel
July 1-12- GF
July 13-16- AKL

LAST decison: June 29 & 30 - Nick Hotel
July 1=12 - GF
July 12-16- HRH

We almost added in BWI between the AKL and HRH decision but dd's fear of clowns kept us away. I really wanted to do YC but then we realized Stormalong Bay would be too much for kids our kids ages, then I got really hyped on doing AKL Savannah COncierge till we watched AKL and Travel channel and both dd's didn't like it at all. So we're basically back to where we started only turned the dates around. Believe me DH thinks I am CRAZY!!!

I am right there with you on this one! I was fine to be staying at CBR the end of the month for a quick trip that was unplanned, but due to a conference we're going. :cool1: Well, DH upgraded us to Poly as a birthday gift. So, I start thinking, boy that's alot of extra money for a quick unplanned trip. Well, maybe WL would be a good compromise. But then again, if we are going to spend the money, why not the Dolphin since we stayed there for our honeymoon 9 years ago and haven't been back since? OR, BC supposedly has a great pool and that would be great for dd6 and ds4 and dh while I'm in meetings in the mornings. AHHHHHHHHH!!! I feel your pain!! So, right now we're still booked Poly, not sure what I'm going to do.

jcsbama,

Count me in as well. It always seems that either my dates are changing or the resort is or both. Once I make the reservation I'm usually fine, but it is the time leading up to that, where I run into trouble.

If you change it again, we will still support your choice. :goodvibes Having changed my mind several times, and end up going back to where we are comfortable, i totally understand. :teeth:

Ok, so I'm not alone! I am in the middle of resort choice anxiety right now. I didn't intend to plan another trip to WDW until Thanksgiving break but then I got an email with a pin # from Disney. Of course that got me thinking....and kids want to do what we did last year which is spend some time at WDW and a couple of days at my brother's house who lives just north of Daytona and only 1/2 block from the beach. So I called and got a $79 ($88. with tax) per nt. rate at POR. We've stayed there before and really liked it. It's the only moderate we can stay at since we are a family of 5. My dates were for the week of June 20th. Then my ds's baseball coach informed us he is creating a select all star team to play in this area and wants my son to be on it. He is thrilled. Only thing is the coach said he has to be able to practice and play (when our regular season is over) from June 14th until the second week in August when school starts which means no vacations during that time. So I regrouped, looked at the school calendar and decided to try arrival on May 23. The last day of school is the 25th but even the teachers usually encourage kids not to come to school that week since grades are normally turned in already and they just have to come up with something to occupy time. Well, my dd is now a freshman in high school but that's ok because her last finals are on May 20th. I got the same $79 dollar rate and changed my reservations. The VERY next day my dd comes home and says that a couple of her teachers have changed their minds and aren't going to give finals until the 23rd and 24th. I came very close to crying. So I finally found the ONLY dates we can go this summer and there is nothing available at POR. I can get the Boardwalk Inn for $244. including tax which is a good rate for the resort but gosh that is a big difference in money compared to POR. DH LOVES WDW and always has a blast once we get there but he stresses about cost until we do get there and he would probably kill me if he knew I was contemplating $244 a night. BUT, I know he would love the BWI since we have stayed at BC before and just love the Boardwalk area and walk to Epcot and the Studios. Now, I'm spoiled just thinking about it - then the next minute I feel guilty thinking of spending that much when we won't be in the room much. I guess I'll keep trying to see if anything opens up at POR but right now I don't know what I'd say if it IS available since now I'm thinking about how great it would be to stay on the Boardwalk. Someone rational tell me what you think. Please? :confused3

Oh I constantly change my mind! My honeymoon was the only one where I didn't question where we were staying - and then they ended up changing it for me! AUGH!! It worked out for the total best though so I can't complain! :cloud9: There is nothing like staying at Poly for $90 per night. :)

Rafikifan,

Would you dd be able to take her finals early? Some teachers will do that if there's a good reason.

I never used to be indecisive. It used to be so easy. I'd get an AP, plan my timing based on when AP rates were available (and usually, pretty soon), stay at ASMu and take the Mears shuttle from/to the airport. Now I've got all this time to plan and save money, and I can't seem to make up my mind. I have a reservation at Pop under the AAA rate, but lately I've been thinking that I might want to stay at POFQ instead. And after weeks of dithering over it, I decided to go ahead and rent a car for my stay. Don't even get me started on whether I'll get an AP or a premium MYW 10 day ticket.

I have half a mind to just go to the nearest AAA office and say, "Book me for a stay at POFQ on the MYW plus dining plan." It would just get all of the decision-making done with.

I suggest you keep calling and keep trying. I was feeling the same way. Should I do this trip or not. I changed resort plans several times. Till finally yesterday I called booked the Boardwalk standard view and made my priority seating reservations. When I hung up the phone I finally had a good and excited feeling about the trip.

I did want the Beach Club but all they had was water view at the AP rate. I decided to call today and low and behold...Beach Club standard view AP rate was available.

Look at pictures of all the different hotels. Keep calling and when it is the right choice you will feel it.

Normally when I book a trip it's about 4 or 6 months out. During that time I do change my mind on resort. Especially after the AP rates come out. While I felt indecisive...I never felt crazy. Until this trip!! LOL

My son will have 3 days off at the end of April. These days were the inclement weather days but we didn’t see any snow (during the week) this past winter. So I decided that it would be fun for me and my son to do a trip alone. And leave dad home to have 4 days to himself. (btw that was my bargining chip. 4 days of no one yelling Dad or Hunny! :) )

I use an ECV when at Disney because of my asthma. Most trips we have or rent a stroller for my son (he's 7). He has walked beside the ECV many times when dad went off to do a ride he liked and that went well. So I was concerned about him tiring out from walking and getting the cart on and off the bus with no one to keep an eye on him while I do that.

First reservation

Contemporary April 27 to May 1.

Awards Travel flights unavailable for May 1.

Contemporary April 28 to May 2.

Decided that it would be fun to do the Poly Concierge

Poly April 28 to May 2

Found out Poly Concierge room are in 2 buildings. And was concerned I would end up in the Tonga and would not be comfortable leaving son in room alone while I walked to another bldg to get our breakfast.

Boardwalk April 28 to May 2

Planned breakfast at Cape May and a night at The Sand Castle Club. Hubby concerned about added walking from the Boardwalk being tiresome for son.

Beach Club April 28 to May 2!

Woot that’s the plan. I will not change again! (well probably not :rolleyes1 )
