When is your Spring Break 2014?

The ONE year I was hoping to go for our Spring Break...our week is April 20-26, 2014. No way am I brave enough to fight the week after Easter crowds..nor do I want to pay the crazy airfare...so we will wait for summer.

In my area of Michigan one of the public school districts and one of the private school systems has Spring Break: April 6-12. The other biggest private school system has: March 30-April 5. The public school district one town over has: March 23-29. Which is super weird because normally they all have Spring Break at the same time.

I'm at a public school in California and for the past 15 years Spring break always falls around the Easter holiday. Our school district has always done the week before Easter Sunday. But my friends go to schools that have done the week after. It varies from year to year.

Ours is March 31-April 4th (KY). Excited because it doesn't fall around Easter this year. This will be our first spring break trip--we normally go fall break. Unfortunately, I had to cancel our fall break trip just last week. Have to use our Southwest credits before June so we decided to try spring break. We have a day on some old hoppers to use up so we are thinking of just doing one park day since crowds may be higher than we are used to. We can easily fill our time with other Disney stuff to do!

Oddly enough, it looks to me like we have TWO spring breaks. The kids are out of school March 8-16 and also get out early on April 16 and don't return to school until April 22. Weird, huh? We're in central NC.

I voted April 20-26, but my daughter is out April 18th as well. She is in a small private Christian school in NC. Ours is always tied to Easter. For her first few years it was the week leading up to Easter, plus the Monday after. For 2013 and for 2014 it is Good Friday plus the week after Easter because of how the Tera Nova test is scheduled.

I dont think were going to Disney World, but Ive been thinking about DCL. The Magic sails on the 21st and the price actually looks doable. Add in that since it sails that Monday and returns that Friday, I would be able drive us down. Im the only driver, so I split it over 2 days. Pretty sure airfare is going to be crazy that week. Plus, dds birthday is the 28th so it would be neat to celebrate it a little early. If not, well probably go down at the end of May when she gets out of school and maybe do 4 days at WDW and see if I can do DCL at the end. We have really been wanting to sail but I had made it clear we needed to wait until ds was potty trained so any pool time would be easier. My daughter is really too old for the splash area. Now that hes conquered that weve all been thinking about the Mickey Boat.

I voted 3/30-4/5 because that's when we'll be in Disney, but that's the spring break for my DH's school district where he teaches. My DD's spring break is the week before. That's why this will be the last year we go to disney for spring break. Next year, we'll have two in school and my older DD is getting too old to be out of school for 2.5 weeks (she gets 1.5 weeks because of conferences, etc)

I am a teacher in NYC and the last day of school before spring break is Friday, April 11. The first day back from the break is Wednesday, April 23.
