We will be at WDW in November for the F & W and the Half Marathon the weekend of November 8th. Does anyone know when Disney decorates for the Christmas Holiday ?
By that time the MK will be decorated with the exception of the tree that doesn't go up until after parade taping. DHS will be well on its way to being fully deopcrated. Epcot does not decorate until after F&W is done- there date to be decorated is the day after Thanksgiving and I don't know about AK off the top of my head but they will be fully decorated on the day they start the Jingle Jungle Parade. The resorts may or may not be decorated during the time you are there sometimes they go up in early Nov and sometimes it is later. Everything is fully decorated on the day after Thanksgiving- before that it just depends on there schedule.
Last year, all decorations for all locations was 11/19. It is usually around that same time each year for the last few years. The date has not been released for this year that I know of. Keep an on the DIS and someone will post it.
We went Nov. 8-13 in 2011. The first day we were there was the first day of MVMCP, so MK was already decorated very nicely. We really ejoyed the paty. No big tree yet. (I have pics from Jan. 2007, so I know what it looks like) The castle looks amazing! The 9th we went to Epcot- F&W was still going on, and Christmas decorations were up too. The big tree, plus one at the American pavillion, garland and other decorations at other locations were up. The 10th we were at DHS for the first night of Osbourne Lights. There were decorations all over the park, pls the big tree. The 11th we did MK again, and left early becuase there was another party that night. On the 12th we were at AK. Their big tree was up along with decorations They weren't doing the Jingle Jungle Parade yet. We ended that night at MK, and even though there wa no party, the castle and Main Street were all lit up and decorated. The guide maps for MK and DHS had Christmas stuff on the front. I will post pics but I don't want to ruin it for you if you don't want me to.
I don't know how the rest of WDW was, but this is the way DTD looked on November 1st last year-
Santa's little elfs sure were busy on Halloween night. All the Christmas related things were available for sale (Christmas themed Mickeys and Minnies, etc.) I was amazed at how quickly all memories of Halloween were gone.

This gives me hope we'll see some decorations Nov 3-8! We're leaving mid day on the 8th so won't see the Osborne lights but would like to see some decor.

And the reverse happens in January. One day Christmas decorations, then voila! We went to Epcot 2 days in a row the first few days of January. One day-Christmas tree. Next day, no tree and all replanted. Disney NEVER leaves bare spots!
We went the 11th-20th of november in 2011. The parks were all decorated pretty heavily, if not fully when we arrived. Osborn lights and MVMCP was going on, but not any of the Epcot X-mas stuff.
They were working on the carousal in the Beach Club the whole time we were there, but no other decorations were up for the first part of our trip. We were enjoying a few drinks at the Poly one night and we saw the little elves start working around 11:30 pm.
A few mornings later when we woke up the BCV were magically decorated too! It was kind of cool to be there for the progression. We will be there the same time this year too! It should be fun!
