Newbie here... Feel free to direct me to another post if there's one with this question. :)

We are visiting the week of Thanksgiving and are hoping to catch a glimpse of the gingerbread house on display at the Grand Floridian... Will it be up during the week, or perhaps be complete the day after Thanksgiving?

Also... When will all of the resorts have their holiday decor up? We wanted to spend some time visiting some of them and seeing their decorations (ie. Animal Kingdom, Poly, etc.).

We will be arriving Saturday the 17th and staying through Monday the 26th, so I'm hoping to have a chance to see some Christmas stuff before we leave.

Thanks in advance for any helpful tips & advice! Oh, and feel free to make suggestions on resorts or holiday decor/treats that you enjoy!
;)

I am pretty sure its up and running then - its a huge merchandise outlet for them so I can't imagine they don't have it up early. I know they take it down about the second of January though.

I would really like to know also!:rotfl: We are going that week also and are having a hard time finding out exactly what will be decorated???:santa: Would love some help from those that went T'giving week last year on what they noticed was decorated!

Just wanted to add do not, do not, unless you want to throw your money away buy the gingerbread shingles from the GF gingerbread outlet. They were terrible tasting and I have seen other posters agree to. I actually heard they make the gingergbread shingles differently and also they make the Gingerbread differently too at the Yacht and Beach Club, might try that this time.

it definitely has to be up by thanksgiving. i'm sure it'll be up sometime before that.

Thanks for the pics of the Liberty Inn house... I will CERTAINLY stop by and take a look at that. Any other cool things like that around the World Showcase???

I posted this on another thread. The Week BEFORE Thanksgiving they begin the MVMCP. This year it starts on November 12th. Magic Kingdom will be decorated for the Christmas Party so the tree is up and lit and beautiful. The gingerbread house was up last year when we went on November 10th to the GF, their Tree in the Lobby however, was not up yet. The Osbourne lights at MGM were up and running and AWESOME and began on November 13th (scheduled this year to start on November 12th). We stayed at the WL and the Christmas tree was put up on November 14th or 15th. Can't remember exactly but one night we went to bed and the next morning the Tree was going up. So I think it is a really safe bet that during the week of Thanksgiving you will get to see LOTS of Christmas decorations.

The only thing I noticed was that Epcot had the lights and everything around, but not lit for some reason. I think they had the tree, but some parts of the park with obvious Christmas displays were not lit. But again we were there the week prior to Thanksgiving, so I think by Thanksgiving you will be fine.

Have fun! It is beautiful!

Oh I hope they are working on the gingerbread house for the first week of November when we are there!

Thanks so much for sharing this info with us! It is hard planning when your not sure what will be up!:santa:

So do you think it would be up by the 8 & 9 of November or would that be pushing it? I would love to be able to tour the resorts on those days and see the christmas displays at all the resorts.

We were there Nov. 11 - 15th last year. It was up and operational on the day we went to GF. :thumbsup2
