OK so I might be getting abit too keen too early but my bf has agreed that we can go to WDW in 2010 LOL (i said i was keen). This will be my second trip to WDW but my first with just me and my bf with me planning everything :faint: as the last trip we had all i had to do was turn up at the airport with my stuff lol

We're not restricted in when we go at all but my initial thought is either :-
beginning to mid June OR end of April/beginning of May?

are these good times with regards to weather, crowds etc? Alto i have read about lovebugs in May which is abit off putting.

I think we have also decided to stay either 14 nights or 16 night (considering that we wont do much the days we arrive and leave)staying Coronado Springs- is this a good choice? and does this hotel have its own buses to the parks or does it share with another hotel?

Any idea when i can book for 2010? and is it better to book as a package or to book hotel/tickets/dinning etc with disney and then flights sep?

I think thats enough for now but i'm sure i'll have many more questions

Thanks

Hi,
Personally we love early May, Lovebugs never bothered us , weather hot but not too humid, not much rain, crowds low. We really noticed the crowds increasing from Memorial day weekend, which is late May. If you go with Virgin the flights are released around March for the following May, hope this helps:)

Not too keen at all, we're planning a return trip for 2010 too!

We went mid-April this year and I have to say I was suprised on how much we got done. I thought that the crowds were manageable too.

I've also been in May in previous years, and May is a lovely time to go, not too hot and there's not much rain either.

When I went in April, there was only me and DBF (both 23) and I had to do all the planning this time, as DBF has never been before and my parents and brother were staying at home this time. Like you, on previous trips, I've just shown up and enjoyed it. The planning was fantastic, got me really excited and prepared for the trip. I didn't over-plan, but made sure I had all my tickets sorted and that I got the ADR's that we wanted. Other than that, we just decided either the evening before, or the morning we got up on where we wanted to head too.

I've never stayed at CS, but it will have it's own busses to and from the park. We stayed and All Star Sports and loved it! I've also previously stayed in CBR and we really enjoyed it there too, it's beautiful.

Booking for 2010, then I'd look towards the end of this year for early in 2010. I'd personally try Travel City Direct, they seem the cheapest on the internet and offer almost everything that you'll need.

Hope that helps and I've not gone on too much! :)

i don't know if they'll have free dining in 2010, or if you're interested in that, but if so, you might consider the end of august/ beginning of september for free dining..

my daughter is going this year, together with a girlfriend of hers (they traveled together to tokyo disney last year)...
she got 14 nights at the pop century including free dining...
it's so cheap i can't believe it....

something to consider....

Thanks- i'm guess in april is normally busy due to easter and spring break?

How bad is this lovebug thing, we're see a few pic and it does look really off putting

I've had a look at Travel City Direct, but they include a car- we wouldnt be interested in hiring a car as my bf wouldnt want to drive.

Yeah I had considered sept and i know abit about the dinning plan- but doesnt this make it busy? also my bf would rather go June but it would save us money.

I was expecting a nightmare in April, with it being just after Easter, but I was pleasently suprised.

May, from what I can remember was quite good, I don't recall the lovebugs, so I've no advice there, sorry. We went towards the end of May, into the start of June one time and it was great. So your b/f's choice of June may not be a bad idea. I'd just double check the US school holidays??

I wasn't aware with TCD that a car was required, but we'd be getting one on the next trip, so that's probably why I haven't noticed. Sorry again :)

In 2010 i fink easter will be early arpil- well form what i have rea, so i was thinking end of Arpil beginning of May will be ok crowds wise.

I think the thought of going in May- maybe these lovebugs arent as bad as i have read LOL

I think June is good too but prices are slighty higher on the May/ June cross over.

Thats ok, i just couldnt not select a car so i guess u cant.

I've just priced up with virgin and they seem pricey

I've seen some good flights with Continental airlines- anyone been with them?

september is very light...we've gone then a few times...
free dining fills up the restaurants, but not the parks from our experience...

Have stayed at Coronado. Found setting lovely, beaches and hammocks were great. When i did the washing one evening i lay in one of the hammocks watching the stars and hearing faint music and people chatting - what a way to do the wash!! Because its a convention centre and spread out we found it more peaceful with less young families around. Buses were good and never crowded. We went there in September and there were loads of love bugs around. They are definately annoying especially when they fly into you and onto your food. September was a nice time to go. Not too crowded in parks and weather was warm without being overbearing. Odd rainshower which poured down for all of 5 mins and then dried just as fast. Not even enough time to get the waterproof out of the bag!! Also been in October and December, both good times although December is now very busy from 2nd week IMO. I have priced individually on each occasion and then got package prices. Try out the compare type sites too for quickness, travel supermkt and expedia. Ive always found a package deal was cheapest so far but you may be lucky and get a bargin.

Hi widget

Thanks for that, can i ask who do you tend to book with then? as i've looked at the virgin, thomson, frist chioce etc for package deals and they seemt o be abotu £300-400 more then just booking flights and then the hotel, tickets etc with disney direct.
Also can you book the dinning plan with other companies?

I know sept is a good time to go and the free ddp is great but i really dont mind paying for it and i like to take my time over meals whilst on hol and if it was busy in the resturants i'm not sure it would be to great.

I did think Oct would be good too but my bf wanted to go earlier in the yr- i fink we've decided on April avoiding easter- useless anyone can tell me why we really shouldnt go then- something i'm missing

Thanks everyone
