When is the best time to buy plane tix for October

We are headed back to the World next October and I really don't want to drive this time. We always have driven and I just want to get there this time.

Can anyone tell me the best time to get the best price for airline tix?

For our Sep/Oct trips we book thru spirit air in April. That has been when they have offered their best pricing for those months.

Southwest usually has their anniversary sale in June. Thats what we did this year. $700.00 for four of us round trip from Connecticut.

We got great prices the first week of august for our oct trip. I booked airline tickets exactly 8 weeks before our trip. I paid $122 RT from Nashville to Orlando!!

We're going in Oct. too. I'll probably buy in April as well but if I see the price I want before I may do it sooner. We travel mid week so normally I can get $200 pp from central NY to Orlando.

We fly JetBlue or Southwest.

We could have gotten Southwest a little cheaper last time but thats us driving 2 hours so it wasn't worth it.

I'd probably look in August, about 6 weeks out from your trip.

We went this Oct and bought our tickets in the beginning of June. We paid $200pp from Phoenix to MCO. Our tickets were more than 3x that cost 2 months out from our trip. My personal advice would be to start looking soon and when you find a price that's acceptable to you, book it.

I get notifications from the airlines on airfare sales. I flew Southwest this last trip and paid about $115.00 per person. During the summer they will most likely have sales so I wouldn't book until then. That's what we did. Southwest will also give you a credit if the air fare goes lower than what you paid.
