When is Splash Mountain's official Opening?

Many of you were very helpful yesterday in explaining that until April 21 (or whatever) EE will simply be open when available. It will often be open, but will sometimes be closed for tests or renovations or stuff that no one knows about besides the Imagineers. After the official opening date in April, however, it should pretty much be open all the time.

So, my question is...when is the official opening for Splash Mountain? :scratchin

?????

I think you mean the official opening for EE. April 7 is listed as the official opening press event.

I can't wait to ride Splash Mountain -- heard great things about it ;) ;) ;)

I know, Splash Mountain is currently open. I was simply trying to be silly and point out that my favorite ride in the parks never seems to be open. I've never gotten to ride it more than once in a trip, even a week long one. I've often gotten FP only to come back and find that it is shut down for the rest of the day. I have several times stood in line almost all the way to the front only to be told that the attraction is having technical difficulties and we can either wait it out or come back later. I think it has something to do with the new logs in which I can't hug my wife the whole ride like I used to. :) Anybody else notice this problem?

New logs??? What new logs? I just got off of Splash Mountain about 4 hours ago and the logs are the same kind that they've always had. Are you talking about Disneyland??

Sometimes Splash Mountain doesn't open up at 9am like some of the other rides but unless they are doing a refurb I've never seen it shut down for the whole day. Though sometimes there are tech difficulties.

I must be thinking about Disneyland. I did hear that these MK logs gave them all kinds of problems when they opened SM. They got caught going around some turns and blocked water flow through the ride and caused flooding inside by the AAs.

I just want to be able to ride the ride, because when it works, it's my favorite ride at WDW. :thumbsup2

Best I can figure, this thread is about Splash Mountain, or maybe Expedition Everest. Or both. So I'll address both.

I'll start with Splash Mountain. I've only experienced this once. We had FP's and went back to ride Splash and it was down. However, they honored our fastpasses later in the evening although our ride time had officially passed. Other than that, it's been "smooth sailing" for us as far as getting on Splash Mountain. I think the logs are the same as they've always been. Not a log, I don't have a log, not in the sense that you thought that I said it.

Anyway - if you are in anyway referring to Expedition Everest I can tell you that I rode it during the passholder preview and it's fabulous. We were told by a CM that 4/7 was the official opening date. However, I've heard folks say that they have riddent it at other times so they must have it open off and one. I think it's a crap shoot. You may get it to ride it between now and the official opening or you may not.

Now, about the logs. I just dunno. I had no idea there was an issues with the Disneyland logs. Or the Disneyworld logs. or any logs.

I get what the OP is saying; they have had bad luck with finding Splash closed for repairs, much like EE is now sometimes closed for testing. Based on that criteria, I know a LOT of us on here are still waiting for the 'official opening' of Test Track! :teeth:

Color me confused about this thread.

Heck, I LOVE the Matterhorn, especially the Yetti.
