when is fall free dining typically announced?

We're planning our next wdw trip for sept 2012. I want to take advantage of free dining, that is, if it's offered. The past few years I have seen Disney starts offering free dining for the summer and fall of the following year around last fall of the current year, and typically ended the offer mid december. Does that sound accurate? I'm budgeting to have a "downpayment" this November to book for next Sept (just in case free dining is offered), I just want to be prepared to book as soon as free dining is offered. thanks!

You can book your trip now and just revise it if Free Dining is offered. That's what we are doing for our honeymoon for October 2012. My travel agent and I both check the sites everyday. I'm sure it won't be announced for awhile. When my agent called the main AAA number, they told her to keep an eye out on April 29th. I'm not sure how true that is or if they were confused with that being the day we can make our ADR's. Which our ADR's is actually the 30th, but whatever. Not the first time they gave me wrong information.

I will be honest, there is no way to know.

It is July and they haven't said anything about FD for Oct-Dec. The FD for Aug-Sept was announced in late spring of this year.
So I wouldn't expect 2012 to be announced until next year sometime.

Best thing to do is budget paying for the dining plan and then if it is released jump up and down.
