when is ANS baby's paternity test?

The Bahamas is part of the Hague Convention. If Larry had proof he was the natural father, the Bahama's participation in the Hague would require the return of the baby to the US. Since HK$ is listed on the birth certificate, he is the legal father right now. Larry will need to go through the court system in the Bahamas to resolve the paternity issue.

The Bahamian official I saw on TV certainly sounded like they wanted this resolved though. I'd imagine they don't want to be seen as a safe harbor for people hiding from the US Courts. Their economy depends on our tourism.

The Bahamas paternity hearing is Monday.

All that the Bahamas really needs to do is obtain a swab from the baby's mouth. I'm hoping they'll go along with something as simple as that.

I hope it's soon for the sake of the baby! HKS does not have to take a paternity test if it turns out Larry Birkhead isn't the father. HKS is the assumed dad, since his name is on the birth certificate. It's a legal document! I really do think that Larry is the baby's father. She looks so much like him!

They (you know, "they" ) were speculating today on the news about why ANS and HKS were even in Florida buying a yacht, and wondered if they intended to go out into international waters to avoid a paternity test in the Bahamas.

Now, "they" are saying that it's difficult to get the Bahamas to enforce anything (ie, the paternity test)...that things happen so slowly there...that sort of laid back, balmy weather type of atmosphere.

I wonder why she was buying a yacht too. I heard a Bahamian official say last night on Nancy Grace that she was broke when she came to the Bahamas. That is why that guy let her live in the house for free. She was suppose to actually buy it when she got her money from Marshall's estate.

I am sick of Larry Birkhead's attorney! He had no standing at the hearings about where ANS would be buried - even if he is the father, he's an ex boyfriend ANS moved to the Bahamas to be away from!

At this point, Bahamian law recognizes HKS as the father, DNA testing to prove someone else is the father is what they're after. He (HKS) doesn't have to take a test, he's already the father, legally. If it turns out LB isn't the father, the other candidates can go through the legal system for tests also. Until it's proven otherwise, HKS is the "baby's daddy".

The fact that they went to the Bahamas at all to have the baby is pretty flag raising to me. Why have a baby born out of the country unless you have to? Not that it seems anything ANS did was very logical...but HKS is the legal "brains" behing this move...if ANS sister is telling the truth and there was sperm saved from her husband, getting PG by it was more than likely the smartest thing ANS did to secure the $$$$$ from his estate...or at least SAYING she got pg by him...who knows...but I agree, this is crazier than any made up stuff for TV....

Of course ANS would say she's willing to have the baby tested for DNA when ordered by Bahama's legal system...she moved there because she knew how difficult it would be for anyone to enforce it. Ditto why HKS is so "willing", within those parameters.

I LOVE Larry Birkhead's attorneys. She's tough, and she has to be.

So what that LB is Anna Nicole's EX boyfriend, or that she took off? If he is the baby's father, THAT'S the relationship that counts.

NO ONE WANTS HKS TO TAKE A PATERNITY TEST.

HKS is considered the father because he's on the BC, yes. BUT there's someone stepping forward and challenging that. Not someone off the streets...someone with a proven probability of being the bio father. Birkhead believes he's the father, and he wants HIS BABY. Why do people not give credence to a FATHER wanting his child? Why doesn't fatherhood carry the same weight as motherhood?? I just don't get this attitude.

God help that baby if the Bahamas don't enforce a paternity test. Sure, let's just hand HKS another life to destroy.

I was listening to the lawyers on MSNBC this morning, they were saying that Birkhead's lawyers were trying to get Florida to handle paternity, because IF they have to go to the Bahamian government, they WILL order the paternity test, but unlike in the U.S. Possession is 9/10th's of the law & the Bahamian's will not enforce any rule for HKS to turn over possession of the baby, even if the baby IS someone else's.... That's the reason for wanting it in the U.S. and, the reason HKS & ANS left the U.S. before the baby was born...

I think it's interesting in that usually it's the woman getting a court ordered paternity test on men who are trying to ditch their responsibilities, so I would consider it sexist for a court to only order paternity tests for the benefit of the mothers and not the fathers. I have no idea if who the dad is, but I will assume it's not HKS, since if it was - he and ANS would have cleared up the matter with a simple test instead of spending so much on legal fees fighting the paternity test. If ANS and Howard had been intimate around the time she got pregnant, they probably had already got a secret paternity test on their own and already know the answer - which is why they are fighting so hard to not have a test done now.

If the Bahamian court doesn't order a DNA test, I worry not only about HK$'s parental fitness, but that Dannielynn will live a bizarre, almost prisoner like existence, to prevent her DNA from being extracted from a cup she drinks from, a hair that drops off, etc., etc. etc. What kind of life is that?

Same could be said about HKS. Altho HKS has the advantage of having mommy and daddy forking over money.
