When is AKL available to book?

I assume you are asking about booking at AKV (the DVC resort) rather than AKL (the hotel) which you can still book on points for now (until AKV opens).

For AKV: AKV owners can book villas at AKV using AKV points starting May 16th. AKV can be booked using non-AKV points starting June 6th.

It's supposed to open in September, I assume Sept 1st but I'm not sure about that.

Hmmmmm..... I just booked a VWL ressie on Saturday and was told I couldn't book AKV until July. A little inconsistency??

I just recieved contracts yesterday and in the contract it states May 16 is when we can book. Which I thought I was unusual. SO, I would push the issue w/MS come May 16.

I should clarify...We can make reservations starting May 16th for stays beginning Sept. 1st. Our contract states May 16th clearly as the date to book.

But if you want to stay in new section that would be early 2009. Otherwise you are staying in old section that has been updated.

I was told by Member Services July 2 is the date that we could book with non-AKV points.

I wonder what the chances of getting one of these villas is, if you're not an owner? I would love to stay here in December. (value, not holiday!!) I also wonder how many new owners might be renting out their points for this December. We've got friends who would like to stay there, too! ((I am guessing not many -- if I had purchased points right off the bat I would want to USE them!))

It sounds like they pushed the date back for booking with non-AKV points to July. There were some questions from AKV owners about the original date of June 6th because it did not give owners the minimum 1-month priority booking window.
