I wonder when they start doing the Christmas parade at AK. I kind of hop it is started when I go in Nov...but I am guessing it wil lbe the regualr one, which is fine, because I love that parade.

The regular parade is great but the Christmas one is extra fun

My stomach was the issue on departure day. I was hoping I would make the ride to the airport.

He does look like the guy from the start of the parade.

I think I've seen him in trip reports of this parade for years....I think he used to work the big monkey -- you have a shot of it with a different guy, but I think he used to do it.

Everytime I read a report from NYE it just reinforces my desire to NEVER be at WDW during that time. Holy crowds batman!

Not my strong desire to be there during the holiday time. I can handle the Fall, just not Dec.

Pat, it looks like your trip is coming to a close. I hate that you weren't feeling all that well, it stinks to be away from home when you feel icky.
Hope that feeling passed before getting on the plane the next day.

This is a wonderful parade made even better by all of the holiday touches. Even the regular shirts the cast members are wearing are fun with the Christmas prints. I will miss seeing it this year, so I will look forward to the pictures of all who are going during November and December. I will be more than ready to see it again in December 2013.

Here comes a parade.

I love the angle of this picture. It looks like Goofy was goofin' around with the wrapping paper and accessories and ended up getting all tangled and wrapped in the ribbon and only his head is sticking out.............

The Imagineers really go all out with designing these "floats." Love the addition of the Nice and Naughty lists. I'm guessing the scrolled up bottom part of the list on the right is where Kathy, Rosie, Pat and Molly are listed............

He looks familiar to me too. I went back and looked to see if I had any pictures of him from earlier parades to confirm, but sadly I didn't.........at least on PB.

Agree! This is one of my favorite Disney parades because there is so much more to it than the usual floats with characters on it. Don't get me wrong, I don't mind that, but the uniqueness of design put into all the vehicles and animals, plus the interaction of all the cast members, make this a really fun and totally different experience! The added extra touches when it is changed over to a Christmas theme really feed the holiday spirit.

I was not feeling like myself towards the end of that trip.
The holidays are not horrible but if you get in the wrong place at the wrong time the crowds can be plentiful. Knowing that going in is half the battle.

I may get a chance to see it this year but that would be a long shot. WE have a maintenace shut down so I won't have much to do at work around holiday time. Sounds like a perfect time to go but I needs to see if it works out.

Crazy Goofy it does. He seems to get himself inthe strangest of circumstances doesn't he?? Even if it just looks that way.

This parade seems to have more "fun" in it. The music- either holiday or regular and the CMs have more ability to dance and play. Just so upbeat even when it is a bazillion degrees out.

After the parade I decide to head out of AK. Quick dip in and out. Love having an annual pass.

But I do some shopping first. Marv had texted me and asked if I could find a 2011/2012 New Year pin for him. Probably one of the first days I bought mine and had both in my hand but ultimately only bought one not wanting to seem greedy. But now I was looking everywhere I could for them. AK was out too.

While at the pin kiosk near the mercantile 2 CMs were talking about the lack of overtime and such. They apologize to me when I come up and I ask about the pin. She takes me to a cabinet to look then another CM comes up and says she was stumped by a child.

The child asked
“Where do you go to stick your hand in a log?”
Okay DIS DORKS Take your guesses.

I thought these were neat. Have not seen those before.

Yeah, I tried with a couple of DISers who are in SC and a little closer to Pawleys, and it still didn't work out to meet up. Like you said, it's not real easy to get there. I will definitely let you know if/when we get closer to Charlotte.
