When in doubt, feed the bear....but not that!!!Day 6- Last day blues

Pat, I am getting all caught up.

How neat that both the lion and lioness were up on your first safari. Great pictures. :thumbsup2

Both Lions were up and just looking at each other.

Glad you got to see your tumble monkey. Too funny about what you said!!!

I got a little excited when I saw him. :goodvibes

I never noticed the hidden mickey island at the flamingos. Great shot of it! I will have to look the next time.

Mingos on the Mickey island.

I can't believe Jeremy and I missed those pretty tress at Camp Mickey.

I mised them too the first time I went. So you will have to go back during holiday time.

Too bad about the buffet. I love CS. It is such a pretty resort. Tom thinks it is too big...

I also thought it was huge the first time I went. I went again and the place really grew on me.

Can't wait to see what you finally found for lunch.

Trying to get that up.

I thought about you this morning when I heard about the Ultra Swim that's going on this weekend. Gonna have some Michael Phelps pics? LOL

I will try. ;) I will be there all weekend. 1 session down and 6 or 8 to go depending on whether or not I do the extra midday sessions after teh prelims.

You have to work overtime again this weekend, Pat?

The big meet is upon us again this year. I am not working in the traditional sense. I "worked " a half day and then went over to the meet. The swim meet is at one our facilitie that I DO work at but I am not on duty.

I will be officiating again and well that is actually volunteer. Since I actually "worked" last weekend I have tomorrow off and the weekend but I will again be at the pool most of the weekend. :rolleyes1

So I last left you on a DTD bus coming from a failed attempt to eat at the buffet at Pepper Market.

A meltdown was had but a relatively quiet meltdown. No screaming, no yelling, we were just too hungry and tired to do it.

So now we sit on a bus going all the way to DTD, not a short ride, if you hit every red light. I hit every red light way back in ’09 when I was rushing from DTD to CSR once. UGH

I had some time. Time to make sure we could get food quickly without wandering around. I could not screw this up.

Mobile Magic the Disney app to the rescue. I take the time to look up exactly where Wolfgang Puck express is so we can walk right there and make sure they take dining plan ( 99.9999999% sure but still, at this point nothing was certain in my brain starved head)

Also that they did not close at any time like PM. Well……

Wolfgang Puck Express was showing up on the map in DTD West Side. Hmmm thought it was in the marketplace. Listed as fast casual dining and no mention of dining plan. Long haul to West side since the busses don’t go there anymore.

Something does not look right. Lucky it is a long bus ride so I keep looking.
Everything is listed not alphabetical but somehow I scroll

All

The

Way

Down

And find

Wolfgang Express. OKAY…. This one is listed as a Quick service and on the map is in the Marketplace.

HOLY COW- if I had dragged Chris to West Side to the OTHER Wolfgang Café and then we did not eat there… :faint:

I would not be writing this right now, I would be dead. :rotfl:
Okay I am familiar with the Marketplace so I can find Wolfgang Express.

We hop off the bus and basically take off as fast as we can. We are walking, and walking and walking. Down past the 12 days of Christmas and finally down and around by Goofy’s and Rainforest Café.

I CANNOT FIND THIS PLACE TO SAVE MY LIFE.

I finally stop and ask a lady at some kiosk either the glassware or the pick a pearl. She points me in the right direction and we almost take off running.
1sm184runhappy.gif

Around one of the low planters and BAM

My shin makes contact. OUCH. I keep walking. I did not care if I sliced it open I was hungry and so was the boy and we are going to get food one way or another. :lmao:

I took this the next day. My damage.

IMG_3453.jpg

We finally make it to Wolfgang Pucks.

Look at the menu and order. Chris ends up with Pizza and a side of fries.

IMG_3182.jpg

No clear shot the boy was hungry and I was not going to stop him from eating.

IMG_3183.jpg

I ordered the pasta – Now let me explain further. As some of you know I have allergies. Too many allergies. After I finally got fully food tested and environment tested as well as critter tested I am allergic to lots of stuff. Bees, ants, trees, weeds, grass :hippie:
Also common foods.

Carrots, green beans, PEAS, tomatoes, celery
Soy, cantaloupe,
Garlic, sesame, mustard, dill,
Almonds, English walnuts, peanuts, pecans

Trying to avoid all is impossible and some have more significant reactions than others.

Basically I have go over menus and try to pick the lesser of the any evils and try to eliminate the bad ones if possible. I am not a true anaphylactic and close up right away person. Sometimes I get itchy, sometimes I get sniffly, rarely hives and mostly I notice a reaction because I get puffy.

Puffy you say. Quickest way to notice is to look at my watch band. If it is leaving an impression in my arm …. I am swelling.

So I end up with the Chicken Alfredo. In my rush I did not read everything on the listing. I mean I am staying away from the garlic and tomatoes right?

This is what arrives.

IMG_3181.jpg

See those green things? :scared1: Those are Peas. :scared1::scared1:

WHY WOULD YOU PUT PEAS ON CHICKEN ALFREDO??????

So I did what I always do ….. pick them out.. one by one. Hoping that would be the end of it. We gobbled our food up and then headed out.

Our CS meal on DDP - $43.00 :scared1: Good thing it was DDP - Very CS credit worthy. ::yes::

Now would those peas bother me..... This is where the BUT NOT THAT comes from. I may have taken a Benadryl right then but it is not in my notes. Either way those peas would impact the rest of the trip.

We were satisfied and had a renewed sense of calm. As we walked by the holiday display at DTD there was a photopass photographer taking pictures. One family in front of us so we stopped.

This family had 3 kids I think and Mom had the PP take pictures of EACH kid by themselves and then all together at each element of the display. The PP even apologized to us since they were taking so long. By that point I was fine waiting. No more rushing.

Finally our turn

IMG_3184.jpg

Photo0670FourBySix.jpg

Photo0674FourBySix.jpg

After our photoshoot we were going to find the path that connected to SSR. We were feeling that good after being fed.

Our first attempt. Not quite the legal path but it got us home again.

IMG_3186.jpg

We walked along the side of the road. Luckily being in the Grandstand section it was not far.

As we made our way back to the room.

IMG_3187.jpg

IMG_3188.jpg

Some pictures of the room since I knew we were moving the next the day to AKL.

After a little rest..... Time for some celebrating...

Yeaaaaah you finally found food!! :woohoo: :yay:

I was so hoping it was WGPE, they have such great food for a CS credit, you gotta love that! You have to try their creme brulee some time. Oh. My. Gosh! So good!
WGPE is actually our first evening on property place to eat, Mackie and I love that place! She insists that we do it every time we go on our first evening since we don't do the parks. :goodvibes

I'm sorry you got a scrape on your leg, that must of stung. :worried:

I too am surprised they put peas on the pasta, I'm kinda surprised you picked pasta since most of the time they put garlic on it. :worried: Is garlic not one of the one's you're big time allergic to?
I'm writing down the list of things you are allergic too by the way. I'm keeping that list with me when we go, I wanna look out for you my friend.
I know you don't need my help, but you never know when someone else will catch something like peas in the pasta dish listed on the menu, that way you don't have to go through and pick out small, tedious items before you eat your meal, bless your heart.

Brooklynn and I may sneak over and eat with Wolfgang on one of our last few days. When we're with Jill, well...you know she is faithful to Earl. ;) Another thought is that I might take her to T-Rex. We'll see. We may just spend time in T-Rex gift shop and then go eat with Wolfgang. It would be much quieter. :)

Sorry about those peas. It must be a bummer to be allergic to so much stuff. I am so glad I am not allergic to nuts, because I love nuts! Truth be known, I wish I was allergic to everything fattening so that I would have to lose some weight! :upsidedow

Enjoy your swim meet weekend! I am so glad it is Friday. End-of-school testing and paperwork always make for some long, tough ending weeks.

So now we sit on a bus going all the way to DTD, not a short ride, if you hit every red light. I hit every red light way back in ’09 when I was rushing from DTD to CSR once. UGH

Yes, but at least they keep the bus temperatures hovering around 33 degrees. :thumbsup2

Wolfgang Puck Express was showing up on the map in DTD West Side. Hmmm thought it was in the marketplace.

Uh oh.

Wolfgang Express. OKAY…. This one is listed as a Quick service and on the map is in the Marketplace.

Whew. That was a close one!

I CANNOT FIND THIS PLACE TO SAVE MY LIFE.

It's on the right. No, your other right. By the guy with the thing.

My shin makes contact. OUCH. I keep walking. I did not care if I sliced it open I was hungry and so was the boy and we are going to get food one way or another. :lmao:

:rotfl2:

FOOD...you guys are like a zombie army at this point.

Carrots, green beans, PEAS, tomatoes, celery
Soy, cantaloupe,
Garlic, sesame, mustard, dill,
Almonds, English walnuts, peanuts, pecans

I wonder if we're related. I'm allergic to vegetables, too! :rotfl::lmao:

See those green things? :scared1: Those are Peas. :scared1::scared1:

WHY WOULD YOU PUT PEAS ON CHICKEN ALFREDO??????

Great question! Why would you put them on anything? It just increases the Nastiness Factor.

Now would those peas bother me..... This is where the BUT NOT THAT comes from. I may have taken a Benadryl right then but it is not in my notes. Either way those peas would impact the rest of the trip.

Obviously, the lesson here for all of us is: never eat peas.

looks like you excend band width or photobucket is being a pain....I'll have to come back and catch up later.

/
Happy Mother's Day Pat!!!!

So sorry about how busy you have been. Were you at CC pool yesterday? We drove by on our way to SP and saw a lot of activity.

ah shoot, all ready to get all caught up and...looks like you've maxed out photobucket! I'll come back later.

Happy Mothers Day Pat!

Holy crap Pat! I have to tell you that I LOVE peas and I can't imagine being allergic to them or all the other stuff you mentioned. That's horrible! So sorry that ended up having a yet untold reaction.

I'll be back later to look at your pictures.

I am 99% sure we are doing the QSDP this June so we will definitely be eating there so we can get good use out of the plan.

Oh no...that STINKS about the Alfredo haunting you for the rest of the trip! BUT, glad you guys got something in your stomachs finally!

I'll be back to see the pics!

What?????? I'm back to see your pictures and there aren't any! :faint:

So glad you found food. I had trouble finding WGE the first time we went in 2004. I made the mistake of getting off at the wrong stop and having to walk back. But I have to say the food was worth it. I'm also sorry you paid for that meal afterwards.

I'll have to check back later to see the pictures.

Yeaaaaah you finally found food!!

WGPE is actually our first evening on property place to eat, Mackie and I love that place! She insists that we do it every time we go on our first evening since we don't do the parks. :goodvibes

By that time yes ANY food would have been welcome. I am sure we had dessert but have not idea what we had. I think Chris got cookies??? Maybe a brownie???

I'm sorry you got a scrape on your leg, that must of stung.
I too am surprised they put peas on the pasta, I'm kinda surprised you picked pasta since most of the time they put garlic on it. :worried: Is garlic not one of the one's you're big time allergic to?

Garlic is not that bad. Usually it is the combinations and the amount. Some things are worse than others and well I just need to watch it. Some days I just have an "allergen free" day where I try to really avoid EVERYTHING I am allergic to let my body chill out a bit. Up the allergy meds and usually in a day or so I am better. If I don't have everything I need, that is when I get in trouble. :(

It was nice. I like EoS too but WPE was really CS credit worthy. :thumbsup2

Sorry about those peas. It must be a bummer to be allergic to so much stuff. I am so glad I am not allergic to nuts, because I love nuts! Truth be known, I wish I was allergic to everything fattening so that I would have to lose some weight! :upsidedow

I have always told my allergist - I am not allergic to cheeseburgers and french fries. :rotfl2:
Honestly on My allergy free days consist of McDonalds. :rotfl2: The ketchup on the cheeseburger I keep but some days I take the bun off with the ketchup and just have a taste of it with the cheeseburger.

Mostly the nuts I was surprised I tested positive to. I have always eaten nuts. I had a suspicion that when Jennifer tested positive that I was the one she got that from. Nothing horrible but if I eat lots of nuts and then other things combined with pollen then it just adds to the fun. :rolleyes2

Enjoy your swim meet weekend! I am so glad it is Friday. End-of-school testing and paperwork always make for some long, tough ending weeks.

I did as always. Long days, late nights. Getting to see Michael Phelps and Ryan Lochte swim.... priceless.
Got to spend time with officials I have not seen since last year, one I met actually used to officiate meets where and when I used to swim. Talk about small world.
Got to have good food ( they feed us) and nice drinks ( after the meet) and spend time doing something I love. Can't get any better than that.

Yes, but at least they keep the bus temperatures hovering around 33 degrees. :thumbsup2

Oh yes. Perfect when you are going back from the waterpark. :cold:

That what I thought.

Whew. That was a close one!
You have no idea how close.

It's on the right. No, your other right. By the guy with the thing.

Exactly!!!! Watch out for that planter.

:rotfl2:

FOOD...you guys are like a zombie army at this point.

::yes::

I wonder if we're related. I'm allergic to vegetables, too! :rotfl::lmao:

Funny I would tell my parents ALL the time and they never believed me. :rotfl2:
I actually made the allergist give me an actual copy of the report because even as an adult they don't believe me. :lmao:

Great question! Why would you put them on anything? It just increases the Nastiness Factor.

The rolling away what was always got me as a kid. I don't want to chase my food around.

Obviously, the lesson here for all of us is: never eat peas.
::yes::

looks like you excend band width or photobucket is being a pain....I'll have to come back and catch up later.

All fixed.

Happy Mother's Day Pat!!!!

So sorry about how busy you have been. Were you at CC pool yesterday? We drove by on our way to SP and saw a lot of activity.

Thank you!! Happy Mother's Day to you too and all the mommies out there and the mommies to be!!!

Not at CC pool. Downtown at the Aquatic Center. Have you started lessons back up again?

ah shoot, all ready to get all caught up and...looks like you've maxed out photobucket! I'll come back later.

Happy Mothers Day Pat!

Happy Mothers Day Noticed the PB problem and all fixed.

I have done the QSP and the DDP but never the DxDP. I will admit I eat differently when on the plan vs. paying OOP.:lmao:

Picture problem fixed.

I only really started to figure out the food allergies a few years ago. When I was not getting enough relief from regular allergy meds and would have flare up from what seemed like out of nowhere I began to pay more attention to what I ate.
Pizza would get me and I really thought it might be a gluten allergy. Tomatoes... what a surprise.
Every year I get it more under control.

Oh no...that STINKS about the Alfredo haunting you for the rest of the trip! BUT, glad you guys got something in your stomachs finally!

I'll be back to see the pics!

Come back Come Back--- Pictures All fixed now.
I just need to really watch the food. And carry and take :rolleyes2 allergy medicine.

What?????? I'm back to see your pictures and there aren't any! :faint:

Sorry - I fixed them.

So glad you found food. I had trouble finding WGE the first time we went in 2004. I made the mistake of getting off at the wrong stop and having to walk back. But I have to say the food was worth it. I'm also sorry you paid for that meal afterwards.

WPE is sort of set back a bit. Of course on the way out we came up behind the snow people so duh we could have taken the short cut to get there but NNNOOOOOO we walked all the way around and them some. :rotfl2:

The result was horrible. When you see how early I was back in the room and what I missed you will see how  I was.

That is weird that it had peas...around here you might see brocoli....but never have i seen peas? But it did look good.

I got a little excited when I saw him. :goodvibes

:sad2:

I missed them too the first time I went. So you will have to go back during holiday time.

I never knew they were there prior to our last New Year’s trip. Glad I sought them out that trip and got to enjoy them too!

Nice pictures of you two! :goodvibes

By that time yes ANY food would have been welcome. I am sure we had dessert but have not idea what we had. I think Chris got cookies??? Maybe a brownie???
I think his dessert is in the picture of his pizza, but can’t tell if a square chocolate chip cookie, or a blonde brownie with chocolate chips???

I have always told my allergist - I am not allergic to cheeseburgers and french fries.

Honestly on My allergy free days consist of McDonalds.
Not a whole lot I can stomach at McDonald’s on a regular basis, unless it is an Egg McMuffin at breakfast, and even then I’ve been known not to finish it.........

Mostly the nuts I was surprised I tested positive to. I have always eaten nuts. I had a suspicion that when Jennifer tested positive that I was the one she got that from. Nothing horrible but if I eat lots of nuts and then other things combined with pollen then it just adds to the fun.
Nuts huh? And yet you continue to hang out around here............ :lmao:

I did as always. Long days, late nights. Getting to see Michael Phelps and Ryan Lochte swim.... priceless.
I know you had a great time. Personally, I probably would be hard pressed to recognize Phelps and Lochte if they were standing right beside me!!!

Got to spend time with officials I have not seen since last year, one I met actually used to officiate meets where and when I used to swim. Talk about small world.
Don’t know if the most surprising part of that is that the Official is still living..........or that their memory is that good!!! :rolleyes1

Got to have good food ( they feed us) and nice drinks ( after the meet) and spend time doing something I love. Can't get any better than that.
Always good when you get to spend your time doing something you love!!! :goodvibes

The result was horrible. When you see how early I was back in the room and what I missed you will see how  I was.
Uh oh! This is twice you have mentioned this now. I hope you didn’t end up missing out on something really important!!! But then knowing you, it probably had something to do with a return trip to see your Tumble Monkey again!!!

Oh I love CSR! It looks so nice all decked out for the Holidays :santa:. I can't believe the Pepper Market was closed, why? When we were there last year it was open for lunch since the Maya Grill was closed for lunch. I don't blame you guys for being upset, I get cranky when I'm hungry too.

As far as the peas in your fettucini... I'm as surprise as you are. I like pasta with peas and ham but not in fettucini! I hope it didn't affect you too bad. :headache:

ok that's just wierd, there is a dish with peas and proscuitto in a cream sauce (can't for the life of me think of what it's called as I really do NOT like peas...they pop...I have texture issues lol). I am really worried about how that impacted your trip!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What a total nightmare at Pepper Market! I think all things considered you guys handled it amazingly well, Jeff would have been livid!!!

LOVE the pic of you and Anita on EE!

That is weird that it had peas...around here you might see brocoli....but never have i seen peas? But it did look good.

Allears clearly has peas listed but either I was too hungry to notice since I was looking to avoid large amounts of fresh tomato, or it just wasn't listed. :confused3

I never knew they were there prior to our last New Year’s trip. Glad I sought them out that trip and got to enjoy them too!

Same place Same time and yet...... well that comes later. ;)

You are such a Pool Rat!!! Just remember what they say about all work and no play............

I know, I know, When I called my mom - I told them where I was and what was going on and lamented that my first couple of days off in a while and I am at the pool and my mom even said " Of course, where else would you be?" :lmao:

Brain starved head??? Is this something new??? :confused3

My brain was staved, similiar to low blood flow, brain needs oxygen and food. ::yes::

You are always walking on the dangerous side, aren't you??? :lmao:

At that point I was triple checking everything and I am glad I did. :scared1:

Ouch! That does look painful! :scared1:

I can be quite the clutz, like falling UP the stairs. :rolleyes1

Wow, THAT is quite a list of allergies!!! Glad I don’t have to keep up with all of those!!! :headache:

So I guess if someone tells you You’re Swell it isn’t necessarily a complement............. :)

Yeah sometimes it can be a real pain. Just listening to me order lately is like listening to Sally from Harry met Sally. On the side and none of that etc. :lmao:

Actually that looks pretty good to me....... :thumbsup2
I was good .... but I paid a price and so did you!!!!

That doesn’t sound good!!!
No it wasn't :sad2:

Nice pictures of you two! :goodvibes

Thank you :goodvibes

I think his dessert is in the picture of his pizza, but can’t tell if a square chocolate chip cookie, or a blonde brownie with chocolate chips???
You are right - I thought I may have caught it in the picture but while I was typing the update I just didn't look.
But I did find out - Cheesecake and a brownie. Found the receipt. :)
