When I'm at work (I'm a nurse) and the day is literally life and death stressful, to decompress I visualize myself sitting in one of the rocking chairs at BWV looking out over the boardwalk and lagoon! Just rocking and watching the people go by.:)

When I'm generally stressed out at home I like to login to mydvc.com and look at our upcoming vacations. It is such a pick-me-up to know that I have an upcoming trip to look forward to. Especially fun right now is to see the Disney Dream reservation!:boat:

Anyone else???

You bet, I went to HHI to decompress and everone said remember The lodge area there has no beach and you have to travel to get to the beach. As some may feel that was a downside to disney hhi, I knew it was an upside to me. If you really want to decompress, watching low and high tide come in an out on a marsh was so much slower that watching waves on a beach, HHI Disney has become a homerun for our family!

We are there now but I think I am still decompressing, hopefully that answers your question better

Sorry, meant so say we are NOT there now, but the visualization works!

I agree! I'm a psychologist and when my clients aren't progressing (and therefore I think I can't do my job) or when I'm working with someone who is suicidal, all I need to do is log in to this wonderful DIS community and think about how to spend my DVC points and our next WDW vacation! It was the best investment I have ever made!

YouTube! It has all the great songs, home videos, and nostalgia (old TV shows w/ Walt). I highly recommend it!

I also work in a Hospital and I hear you! Disney is the break from reality that keeps me sane (if that makes sense:yay:!)

My "happy place" has always been visualizing the rocks in the ponds outside the land in epcot. I could stare at that for hours. I find it so calming.

Clinical Social Worker here - mainly dealing with children/adults who have been abused- not to mention the really CRAZY coworkers I have:rotfl2:!!!

Visualize myself walking down main street - holding my girls' hands as they jump and squeal with joy at seeing the castle - smelling the YUMMINESS from the main street bakery - there is nothing that can relax me more!!!!

Special Ed Teacher here...I have a pic of AKV hanging on the window in my office, so that's my focal point at work when I get wound up and need to crank it down.

At home...I take out any DVC/WDW book or video!!!

I too am a nurse! Whenever I have a stressful day, I like to come home and take a bubble bath with the H2O Aquatic shower gel from Disney! I close my eyes, breathe deeply, and instantly the fragrance just transports me to my villa at Walt Disney World!:cloud9::cloud9::cloud9:

Woo hoo another DVC social worker!! I got my MSW last year and working towards clinical licensure now. Disney helped me get through graduate school! :lmao::cool1:

I am a HS teacher/counselor that works with at-risk kids who either have LCSW and PO's or need them. In fact a week and a half ago a former students and his brother were killed in a car accident. That was the second student we lost from that class. When I need to get away I turn on Live 365 MourseWorld Radio and close my eyes and picture myself where ever the music is located. For me WDW is the magical place where all the things I hear about from my kids everyday doesn't exsist and everyone is safe and happy.

:thumbsup2 Another full time nurse here...anyone seeing a pattern? My 438 (and counting) Dsiney songs on my Iphone and Ipod help me through the day. Unfortunately I have to be careful when I play my Disney Music around others for fear they will make me feel silly...so it is always on in the car and now I have resorted to making CDs for others that I know are Disney Freaks or supporters. If it is going to be really busy I wear my Mickey ring and glance at him throughout the day. :cloud9:

Just dropped a CD off at a friend's house today...they bought into BLT recently and I made them a CD to welcome them "Home".

HS teacher who works with at risk teens. Tough group and tough circumstances equal a need to decompress. My fav day dream is the loungechair at OKW with a drink in my hand and my two children swimming in the pool--reminds me why I do this job and who I do it for!

Hi. I close my eyes and WALK myself thru the Magic Kingdom, it is VERY relaxing and usually helps me to fall asleep! Try to get as much detail in as possible and just picture yourself "walking right down the middle of Main street USA". Visit all the lands and even stop at your favorite restaurants and snack stands. :thumbsup2 Joan

Does this sound familiar to any of you:

"Here you leave today and enter the world of yesterday, tomorrow and fantasy."

Isn't that sooooo true?

Let's just say I have this sign in my classroom.
