When I cancel my resort will they cancel my dining reservation too?

We were going to stay on Disney grounds, got the room reserved, make breakfast w/princess reservations. Now the grandparents are involved and we had trouble finding them accomodations too so to simplify our trip we're staying off-site. When I cancel the room will they cancel my dining reservation too?

You dinner reservations should stay in the system. You can call 407-WDW-DINE to double check.

If you originally included the grandparents (based on them eating with you) in your dinner reservations then your ressies will probably be fine, as is. If you didn't include them and now you plan on eating all together, you will need to make new ressies to include the increase in your party size by two.

Not a perk to resort guests - a perk to anyone!! Dining ADRS are not connected to your room reservation.

I think that means the 180 days +10 from the beginning of stay that is available to resort guests.
I don't think they would be affected, but you could just ask to be sure when you call. When I canceled room reservations made through CRO, I made sure at the time that they didn't wipe out my dining reservations too. Doesn't hurt to make sure. Strange things have been known to happen.

The dine system is in NO way connected to the resort system. If they ask you if you have any dining you need to cancel just say no thanks
