My mother ingrained it in me that Christmas trees stay up until the Epiphany, but this year, I'm eager to get it down sooner. What does everyone else do?

...I'm with YOU, as far as keeping it up til 'Little Christmas' - my DH would have it out by December 26 if he had his way....

ours usually comes down about 1 week after new years.
not sure this year, we got a huge tree this time, bigger than we usually get,and the dogs are bumping into it constantly, LOL. so I am ready for it to come down!

My families usually stays up until the first week of the new year.....though last year we had the outdoor tree up until July :rotfl:

Growing up we always had it up till after the new year.

But I was an only child, and with 4 kids, a dog and 3 cats, I am ready for the tree to go down and get some space back!!

Monday I will start the process of undecorating! UGH.:santa:

My tree is the last thing to come down, so it is usually up until almost the middle of January....I love it and hate to take it down....

I usually do it today or tomorrow, a new years tradition!

My dog took it down for me on the 27th :( smashing all the balls on it too ugh.

Probably Sunday morning. I've got just about everything else down in the house on Wednesday (I got on a cleaning/organizing tear), but the tree & the mantle are still decorated. I want to be able to have the den all lit up while we ring in the New Year. We did just take down the outside decorations because we are having a rare warminsh & sunny day and they are calling for rain, so we got that done.

Ours will come down Sun...because then it's back to school and work and "normal" routine...and we won't have time!

Normally just after New Years. DD has a birthday the first week of January, so I have always tried to get the house back in order before then. This year I am doing things a bit earlier though, all 3 big trees are already down and packed away and this morning I carried all the totes up and placed them around the house to start packing everything else up. Hope to get 3 or 4 done today and the rest tomorrow.

We were supposed to go out of town this weekend, but have some bad weather, so I figure I might as well make good use of this time that I didn't expect to have.

Ours comes down whenever we feel like it now. :rotfl:

I think last year it was up until March!

At least but I don't put mine up right after Thanksgiving either I like to wait till later in December.

My tree has been down and put away three to four days ago. Thats one fo the first things that goes down.

We do a great deal of decorating for Christmas so I like to enjoy it for a while. We have a huge outdoor display, bushes wrapped in lights, wooden cutouts, blow-ups, plastic nativity, palstic & metal reindeer, etc. It's not quite like in "deck the Halls", but it's close. On the inside, every door handle & ecery door has something Christmas on it. Many of the pictures on the walls are taken down & something Christmas in it's place. All of the end tables, coffee tables & the bar in the kitchen, have Christmas things on them. Both mantles & both the kitchen table & dining room table are decorated. Even our bathrooms have Christmas toilet seat covers, Christmas soap dispensers, Christmas towels, & Christmas gel clings on the mirrors. As far as trees, we have 3 big trees, 4 smaller trees, even 2 of the small 3 ft trees. We usually start taking everything down after New Years because it's nice to have all of the lights on to celebrate New Years. I feel like we work so hard getting it all decorated, it's a shame not to leave it up for a while. We don't start any Christmas decorating until the day after Thanksgiving when we take down the Thanksgiving decorations. Our kids are teenagers now so they do a great deal of the decorating too. It's really a family affair. It's fun to do it together.

Christmas Day night. The next day, no later. Once Christmas morning is over I want it put up and my house back to normal.
