when does your school get out?

May 6th for me but I'm in college. We are jumping in the car and heading to Disney that Saturday so we can beat the out of school craze.

I work in a public school in NJ and we get out June24, DD is in Catholic HS and she gets out June 10, younger DD's in Catholic elementary June 16. We go to WDW at the end of our vacation though, in August.

It's suppossed to b June 8, but we have no snow days added in, so they just get tacked on the end of the year. So far we have 1 snow day, so we are June 9. It's extremely likely we will have more snow days in the northeast, so we are looking at mid June.

Pending any snow days, DD graduates HS on June 14. No snow days yet, but we're expecting a storm on Tuesday.

May 18th. We're in FL, though, and most schools here get out that week or 1 week later.

And I should add my DH thinks I'm a jerk for asking "I need to know when your school gets out so that I can make sure you aren't there when I go" LOL!

No offense taken I'd rather go when you are not there too, if given the option Anyway we were originally to get out the 2nd of June, with snow days we are now at June 10th. Our "big" storm is on it's way, according to the weather channel, so we may not get out until July at this rate... I don't think you'll have to worry about many western NC folks.

If we have no snow days to make up, our last scheduled day is May 26th. I am sure there will be a couple of make up days that will be tacked on to the end of the year. We have one make up day scheduled in May, but after that is used up, they are added to the end.

Reading this, I rollercoastered from elated (so glad I'm out before then!) to depressed (why can't I get out then?) and back again!

In CT, my district is scheduled to get out on June 14 (if we have no snow days) while my sons' district is scheduled for June 18 (they have 2 snow days already built in and any extras will be tacked onto the end of the year).

Last year, our final days weren't set until almost mid-April because of a flood -- my district was out for 3 days in late March/early April and the boys missed 2. That's making me leery of predicting a final day until almost May!

May 20th...but...if I were you, I'd buy the Unofficial Guide and use their online planners that have historical attendance information for the dates you're considering.

The fact is, if your kids are out of school, there will be tons of other kids out, too. And, while locals makes a huge difference in CA, I don't think they have that kind of impact at WDW.

I'd cast a wider net...and the Unofficial Guide will let you do that!

One nightmarish daytrip during Florida Spring Break has convinced me to never go to WDW when FL schools are out I've never seen it so crowded!
