We'll be there early Nov. this year - never been at this time of year before. Is Disney like everyone else, putting up Christmas decorations the day after Halloween? I'm old-fashioned normally, and don't like to see them until the day after Thanksgiving, but since we'll be there, it would be an added bonus if they were up early!

From what I remember they start putting them up a day or two after Thanksgiving.

We were there the week of Thanksgiving and the resorts started putting decorations up a few days before Thanksgiving. We were at the BWI. Each day we saw more and more, by Thanksgiving Day the resort was completely decorated.

Technically, Disney begins putting up Christmas decorations in July, if you count the Osbourne family lights in MGM, but they don't turn them on until November so that doesn't really count.

As for decorations you can see, they start the day after Halloween. We were there Halloween week in 2001. One day, the side street off Main Street had bales of hay, a scarecrow and pumpkins. The very next day, it had fake snow and a sleigh.

It takes until Thanksgiving until everything is up. So in early November, you'll see some stuff but not the full experience.

It seems I remember from these boards that the WL had a big ceremony when they lit their Xmas tree for the first time and that was a week or 2 before Thanksgiving. I was at WDW the weekend before Thanksgiving and lots of things were decorated already-WL,gingerbread house at GF,tree at BC,tree outside AK, many things up at Epcot already. Don't know about AKL-didn't go there.

We've been twice in November, both times before Thanksgiving and have found the tree up at WL and at Disney Studios (in front of the gates) as well as the Boardwalk. I don't know what the "schedule" for getting them up is but as disneysteve said, they start on November 1 so it's likely you're going to see some of the decorations. One year, we got some great shots of us in front of the tree at the GF that we used as our Christmas card that year.
