When does Universal release minimum stay restrictions?

I'm trying to get into one of the premier hotels and many have a three or four night minimum stay (i.e. when I search for the single night I get no availability, but when I choose on of the hotels for 3-4 nights including the single night I'm trying to book, the resort is available). Hotels.com actually specifically says that the RPR requires a three night stay.

Does anyone have any thoughts on how close to the travel date the minimum stay requirements might be dropped? I assume at some point, they'd rather have single nights booked than empty rooms. I've found some sketchy-looking 3rd party sites (Traveluro, TravelUp) that claim to have rooms, but I don't think it's worth the risk on that one.

We have a Dec. 1-4 reservation at RPR and I know the premium hotels are basically full.

There isn't a minimum booking for those dates.

Mm, fairly sure there is. When I try for Dec 4 all I see is one $730 minions room. But Dec 4+5 gives us HRH availability. They realllly don't want single night bookings on Saturday. 😅

Definitely will keep checking though. Saw a Portofino room earlier today but couldn't book it fast enough.

I don't get that. I get Dec. 4th booked at HRH and Dec. 4-5 booked as well.

@StarCruzer there is an informer meetup that weekend so I highly doubt that any rooms will be released for single night booking, the deluxe resorts are full and likely to remain so cause the meetup participants were given a discount on the rooms quite awhile ago.

I've also never heard of any of the Universal hotels having a minimum night stay, I think that must be because of whatever third party site you are looking at. The direct booking with Loews shows no availability no matter which dates are put in. Perhaps the third party site has rooms they get in reserve and that's why they have some available? I really don't know on that, I'm just guessing.

You could probably check at about 6 days out to see if there were any cancellations cause 6 days is when people have to cancel by to get a full refund. However most people there that weekend also spent a lot of money on meetup tickets which are quite expensive and nonrefundable so I wouldn't bank on a cancellation.

Thanks! That all makes sense to me. I assumed they might be doing the same as Disney--making it hard to book single night stays due to housekeeping staffing issues.
