When does MS take you off waitlist?

We are trying to get 2 extra days added to our HH trip this June, but had to be put on the waitlist. I actually had those days booked at one point but cancelled them when we had a change of plans! When do you go off the waitlist if your room never becomes available? Is it 30 days before or 5 days before? At that point, am I supposed to call day by day and see if something has turned up? Thanks for your help!

You stay on the waitlist for up to 31 days before your arrival. You can call and extend this up to seven days before your arrival. We just did this last New Year's waiting for a standard room on New Year's eve.

I'm on a waitlist now and MS said I would be on it until 7 days before my arrival. I have ressies for 2 studios now, waitlisted for a 2 BR. I don't know if having a ressie at the same resort changes the time or not. They also said, I could still call, day by day during the last 7 days if I wanted. I have waitlisted 4 other times, and everyone has worked, so far.
