I am hoping to visit Disney in November 2007. My DD will be 5 and I'd love for her to spend her Birthday there. Does anyone know when the Christmas decorations go up? I'd love to see the decorations, celebrate my daughter's birthday, and maybe even attend MVMCP.

Thanks.

We were there Nov. 5-10 and there were a lot of Christmas decorations up. I'm sure they put up a lot more, but even then it felt very Christmasy. :)

They start putting up the Osborn Lights in MGM in AUGUST!!! UGH!!! I SO didn't want to see that in August!!! They weren't lit, just "there"!! :furious:

Actually I saw on TV show with Raven Simone and she was talking about the WDW and Xmas. On that show they said that some of the Xmas decorations they start working on in June or July. The one they start working on that early is the Big GIngerbread house at one of the resorts. This show was from a couple of years ago.But they actually start building it right in the lobby starting that early.I know dont believe everything you see on tv.

Depending on the dates, they used to officially be up the day after Thanksgiving. For the last couple years they have been around Nov. 13-14.
If you are going in Nov. you must plan to go when they are up. It is a sight to be seen. Everywhere!

We have seen thing being put up about the same time the Haloween stuff was coming down. There are some bigger displays that probably will start earlier than November but the middle of November is when we generally start seeing stuff happening.

We're planning to visit October 28 - November 4th. I'm thinking we'll be able to see the fall decoratons up until October 31st and then the CHRISTmas decoratons beginning November 1st. Great! we'll catch them both, of course I'm sure they can't do it all in one day.

Yes, they do begin design work on the Grand Floridian gingerbread house in the Summer as well as preparing the dough for it. They do not, however, put it in the lobby of the resort until sometime in November. Then the decorating begins.

To the OP - you will find some decorations up in November, but not all. I think all decorations are complete by right after Thanksgiving. Now that they are having MVMCP so early I wonder if the MK will be completely done that soon?

There were Christmas trees and decorations up in the Magic Kingdom on Nov 1, 2005. We were there for Halloween - it was amazing to see everything changed so fast!
