It always saddened me to see people throw their trees out the day after Christmas.

After the 25th I continue celebrating the holidays.

We continue to light the tree and outside lights until January 1st.

We don't take our tree down until then. We take all the inside and outside decortations down that day as well.

So for us, it doesn't end until January 1st.

Not until at least Janurary 6th... the Epiphany or Three Kings Day. Everything stays up until at least then.

We take down decorations usually the weekend after the 1st.

dec 25 th, take down everything and say good bye to the season, it gives me a reason to anxiously awaite that day

Ditto Helenabear.

Its an Italian custom, we celebrate Epiphany almost as much as we celebrate Christmas. :)

When I have a tree up, I take it down on December 26th. It helps me to unwind after the holidays.:)

I do tend to hum Christmas carols in April or July though.:o But I don't want to hear Christmas songs until December.

This is gonna sound rather strange to most people but I try to keep the feelings I feel at Christmas with me all year.
I try to celebrate what Christmas means to me even in the midst of sweltering heat or while I'm watching 4th of July parades.
I know how weird that sounds.

I guess if you just mean decorations-wise, we take ours down slowly, and the last of the decor comes down mid January sometime.

Uss too!

Christmas may be extended due to the snowstorm coming tomorrow! Thinking of having Christmas with my mother & 2 brothers next Sun the 29th.
Tree will be up until at least after New Years Eve. Have only had it since Dec 13th.

January 1st for us as well. :) Or, more accurate, the first weekend closest to Jan 1st is when we'll take them down, but we'll stop lighting them after the 1st.

Dec 26, Im ready for spring! ;)
Any decorations that Im in charge of come down ASAP. Anything DH is in charge of come down as soon as hes sick of me nagging. ;)

Usually about 2 or 3 weeks before December 25th. :o

That's about the time my mother gets depressed, starts screaming and yelling for no reason, crying, her face stays as long as her arms until about the second of January. I can't wait until Chirstmas is over. It is NOT one of my favorite holidays. :p Try to have a good time around someone who refuses to. It's not easy.  :( :p

Since the 12th day of Christmas is Epiphany and this year that will be January 5, that is when my Christmas season ends.

{{{hugs}}} Saffron. So many people take the holidays hard. I'm sorry that your mother is having a hard time of it, and you are left to pick up the pieces. :(

Nice thoughts, Erica. I don't think it sounds weird at all. :)

{hugs} Saffron!

Used to be Jan. 1, but the last couple years, Dec. 26. It seems to me that once Christmas is over, it's over. I like to move on quickly. :D
