When do your kids go back to school in the fall?

We're headed to WDW the first week of Sept. because DD doesn't start school until 9/8. When do your kids go back?

As of right now, my kids go back 8/26. Someone is trying to change that so they would start back after Labor Day.

In DS's district, they'll be starting on August 25. Last year, they started after Labor Day (the middle school in the district had some major repairs to be done and all the schools needed to be accessible at the same time), and it really upset a lot of the parents. The last week of August is a compromise; for the last 20 years (at least, since I went through the same district), school began in the third week.

Up here in the Syracuse NY area all the schools go back the week of Labor day.

Long Island here. Not sure of the date, but we go back the Wednesday after Labor Day (around the 9/9 this year, I think.)

Our schools (also suburban Chicagoland) always start the last full week of August - so his first day is 8/25 this coming year.

I live in MA and my kids usually go back the Wed after Labor day but this year they are starting Tues Sept 1st.

Us too! Well, sort of. DSs #2 & #3 go back on the 1st. DS#1 goes back on Thursday the 3rd. He's in Jr. High School (not Middle School, Not High School, they're very particular about that). It's a regional school so new students (7th graders and transfers) will start on September 2nd all by themselves and have a day to get used to having a population that's triple what they're used to and to get used to the school layout before being overwhelmed by the experienced kids.

I believe it is 8/11 the kids go back here. Same time frame as other years. They are out by May 21st though so it all evens out.

Just announced this a.m......September 1st for our southeastern Ontario kiddos. The first time EVER my son will be back in school before Labour Day. Too weird.

We live in Indiana and most of our area starts 8/17. However dd goes to a private school and the parents took a vote if we started 8/17 the kids would not get out until after Memorial Day. If we went back on Friday 8/14 they would get out before Memorial Day. The majority picked 8/14. So she will start Friday 8/14.

Ds's preschool doesnt start until after Labor day.

We start back Aug. 24 here in the middle of Texas. We'll finish up the first week of June, which means we go back to school for 3 days after Memorial Day. I'd rather start a little earlier and end before Memorial Day, August is so much hotter than June.

DS will start 2nd grade on 7/16 - it's a year round school. But his fall break will start on 9/17 so he won't miss any school for free dining .
