Right now we are at the mercy of school and work schedules. Mine is a little more flexible, and ds can take a week with very little worry. However dd is in high school and can't miss any math classes because she struggles with that subject and Dh gets maybe 3 weeks all year that he doesn't have to be at work or at school.
So with all of that in mind we are getting pretty limited. For this year and the 2 years prior, we have had very good luck with the last week of August. Great promos, moderate crowds and everyone is off. But its very very hot and you are risking hurricane season.
I'll also be taking the kids out for 5 days in February as DH has another week off and dd has a semester of classes that she does very well in.

It's getting harder and harder. If given my first pick I would do late November or early December to see all the Christmas decorations and activities. That trip will have to wait awhile.

We usually go in Sept. kids are just back in school so crowds are usually low.

I'm taking my 23rd trip next week and my 24th trip will be in October. It will be my 4th October trip. I've done 11 in January, 5 in May. The rest are scattered throughout the months-March, April, August, September, November, December.

Since we own DVC, we tend to go during times where the points are not at their highest. I enjoy October because we get the double whammy of Food & Wine Festival and MNSSHP.

My favorite time is May but it's become a difficult month for me to travel due to my job.

If DH is going we go right around the end of Nov beginning of Dec. DH LOVES Christmas and this is wonderful for him. We love the Christmas party.

If DH is NOT going we go the end of Sept beginning of Oct. There are a couple reason's I go at this time. All the kids are back to school and there's low crowds. My son loves to swim and I like the fact that he can swim without freezing to death getting back to the room. I love the Halloween party.

We are thinking about going the end of August next year.

March is wonderful because the weather is usually just soooo glorious, and it's still a little chilly at home. We are tied to the school schedule meaning Christmas, Spring Break, or Summer, and Spring Break winds hands down. // LOVE LOVE LOVE Florida then.

Christmas is too crowded (week before is OK, but Christmas week OMG.) Also the weather is very unpredictable. We've been lucky a few times, but it's usually colder than I like. We've done about six Christmas trips, but the crowds are just too much for DH and I doubt we'll do Christmas again.

Summer is so hot and humid -- yuck. Yes Disney is still fun any time, but nice weather just makes a good thing even better. My idea of a good summer trip is going to the Mountains or Canada. This year we're taking a cruise out of NYC north to some Canadian ports. June of 2013 we'll be camping in Yellowstone. I recommend waterparks and beach time for sure on a summer trip. The water is a great place to be.

I've done about 10 March trips and had wonderful weather on all ten. It's not a guarantee, but probabilities are pretty good this time of year.

:santa: I love to go in early December. The crowds aren't too bad and the decorations are beautiful.

The only two weeks I have off during the year (besides Christmas) is during the middle of September so my trips are usually then. I can't wait to graduate from college though - can't wait to take a trip in October for F&W!

1st choice is mid-late October. The kids are on fall break so they dont miss any/much school. We love MNSSHP and the not so hot weather, plus F&WF.

Second choice is mid-November before thanksgiving. No crowds and the Christmas stuff starts going up.

I voted for June-Aug. Not necessarily my favorite time of year to go, but the most convenient time to go. I'm a teacher so it's the only time of the year that I can go for an extended time with my family.

Someday I'd love to go at the beginning of December to experience Christmas at Disney (but before Christmas to avoid the massive crowds). I think October would be another great time of year to go. Perfect weather and maybe less crowds--at least smaller than in June when we typically go.

In the end, no matter when I go, I'm just happy to be at Disney!

We go in October because it's our school Fall Break. However, if we had our pick, we would go in November or January.

I voted for two. The first was for April 15-May 31. We usually go around May 20 thru the end of May or first of June. We go during that time because DS gets out of school and I like to get as much vacation in as possible before Memorial day.

I also voted for October. This is really my favorite time to go. It's not as hot (usually, though Oct '09 was scorching), MNSSHP, the fall decorations, and the Food and Wine Festival. Also like the cheaper rates.

I go every year, late January. When I was in high school, we went at that time because school had a few days off due to a holiday and it was the end of the marking period so there was another day off. Also, my parents figured if we missed a few days in two different marking periods, it wouldn't be that hard to catch up. It also worked well because of the snow. Some years we'd have off due to the snow and wouldn't miss as much school.

Another reason we go in January is because thats when my grandparents rent a house down there. They flock down there in the winter because they LOVE Disney world, and they've got nothing else better to do.

It works out for me because im no longer in school and I work a seasonal job where I get the entire winter off, I can go down to disney too!

Next year im planning on changing it up a bit and going in September or October with my boyfriend. I don't know what to expect then!

:thumbsup2:thumbsup2. We are from Maryland too and we too go the same time of year!!! It has always worked out well for our kids too.

We go for the Flower and Garden Festival at Epcot in the Spring - mid April (#1), then sometimes during the summer months, or this year end of Nov. to first week of Dec.

I chose the last category because of all of the Holiday decorations, but I am also a teacher and I have that time off.

Really surprised that I am only one of two who chose it...because WDW is always jammed packed then!

The last two times we went end of Sept and in May, but now DD is in school, it will be the end of August for us.

I'm a teacher with two kids in school. Fave time is to go over Xmas break. Most common time for us is summer break.

I'm not sure I would even know how to handle a trip with less than peak crowds or free dining :rotfl2:

Mainly late August through early September. Crowds are pretty thin and I actually like the hot weather.

I like mid August. The crowds have died down a bit, the hours still tend to be late and the weather has the chance to be cooler. It's also when DS is off of school and I'm ready for a break after working hard all summer.

Mid January
Spring break
Mid-late June
Early August
Late October-Early November
Christmas
