Umm ... I started "gathering" things for our next trip a few days after we got back from our last trip in February!! I know, I know ... It's an obsession. But I know I'm not the only one.

I haven't packed anything ... yet, but I have made a few Disney-themed tee-shirts for the kids and have added them to my "Disney Box". I've purchased a few travel games for the car ride down, I bought a pop-up laundry hamper and Purex 3-in-1 sheets for the hotel, I picked up some rain ponchos, etc., etc. I've added some Disney tunes to the iPod.

Well, we had booked the bounceback during our last trip so, basically, I started gathering when we got home (exactly one year out). Topped off the toiletries and laundry box and started picking up the little things and putting them into the luggage right away.

I have a WDW stash that I put stuff we didn't use from the previous trip into as soon as we get home. I just stick stuff in it as the year goes on!

Same as everyone else. As soon as we booked last July, i started putting aside sale items for everyone. We were able to get our costumes for MNSSHP for 50% off, too.

As soon as I booked in February and we are going in August. If I see something, especially if it is on sale, I willl grab it and stash in the closet. DH will then wonder when it is time to pack where all this "stuff" came from so quickly. He has no idea what I do!

Like others have mentioned, if I see something at a good price, more like clothes, I'll usually buy them no matter how far in advance it is. But for the most part, we like to do all of our shopping, for toiletries, toys for the kids(for the car and waiting in line), whatever else, only a few weeks before, maybe 2 wks in advance. For us it's a fun thing to get the trip going before it starts. Then we start getting everyone's clothes out and packed about a week before we leave. We also like to order some new disney t-shirts for the kids about a month before we leave- for them its like a fun pre-trip gift Now planning... that's a whole other story

I have a Disney Stash! I mean, where else are you going to need hand held fans, clothespins, tiny lysol spray, and ponchos! I also tend to grab things like Mickey shirts on sale. I got DS a 7 Dwarves shirt at JCPenney for $4!

But I have started ACTUALLY packing for our trip last night. I am SO excited!

We usually go in late April/early May (except this year were going late May for Star Wars weekends).
I mainly have our tolietries packed all year round. I start buying clothes the start of the new year and pack them right away since we live right outside Buffalo its rarley that we would need summer clothes prior to our trip.
So bottom line...I start packing about 4-5 months ahead of time. That gives me the weekend before we leave free to clean the house (we always leave on Monday mornings).

This is so funny! I start picking things up as soon as I book! We are going in Aug., and last week I bought my gransons swim gogles and packed them as soon as I got home. I also packed my new swimsuit, as I know I wont use it here....This is part of trip planning and excitment for me

OMGoodness! I'll will really be revealing my sickness in this thread. I actually started planning and even gathering starting about two years ago.
I have a box in my room I put a lot of things into as I gather them, such as after Easter the year before they had at Walmart these cute buckets that had a Disney theme of some kind on them, I thought they would be a good idea to buy for making baskets for the members of our family coming on our trip. I bought our baggallini's and other bags about two years ago, I've tried to get the things that are most expensive out of the way that I could as far out as possible. Shoes aren't a good idea to buy that far out because you'll need new one's by the time the trip comes around. Well, that is unless your a diehard and want to stick them away. Which I could see happening in my future!
I've collected all our little things over the last two years, stuff to make the kids autograph books, bowls and cups for the room so we can eat breakfast in the room. Ummm, toiletries that can be bought. Some Disney T-shirts as far back as two years ago were bought on sale or clearance, but most of the clothes and shoes were bought in the last four months. I've bought wallets and sox and other Misc. things along the way, but really as far out as two years ago I hoped we would be making this trip and so I gathered accordingly. I hate to shop all at once since it's such a big undertaking, but probably won't have to shop near as much the next trip since I've gotten so much this time....I think I said that last time!

I start gathering and thinking about what we need as soon as we book the trip. I don't actually start packing or putting stuff in suitcases until we are under 30 days.

I keep all my stuff in a big bath and body works bag. My cat decided she wanted the bag so she tore it up. I come home to find all my things all over the place. I found stuff I forgot I had bought. I started collecting stuff about 6 months ago. 8 days to go for me and I have not packed one thing.

I'm like everyone else in this also. I started to gather things up for the trip as soon as it was booked. I can't actually pack it up till right before it's time to go, my girls do "miss usa" type pageants that require long weekends at hotels and my oldest son does MX raceing that requires some overnights for tracks that are far away so my luggage is used all the time. I have gotten some small things and put them into a plastic bucket thingie and have gotten a few t-shirts on sale at our disney store that we won't use till the trip.

I booked my trip in february for July and have since then been shopping, stashing and obsessively plannng. I already bought all our clothes, bought dd12 her goggles,sunblock,travel toiletries and yadda yadda. The only thing left for me to do is pack, which I actually took out my suitcases and carry-on bag to clean. They're pink and after my last vacay last year they got all dirty and beat up at the airport. Anyways I guess we can't help it right? It's Disney !!!!!!!

We have a stash of non-prescription meds and sunscreen in one place for all our trips, for Disney specifically we usually go when the weather is cool to cold in Pa. and always fly down mid week, so the weekend before our flight we haul out our summer stuff, wash, iron and pack by Sunday. Any sooner than that and the luggage is in the way for too long and also we'll dip into the stuff we need and then end up short of motrin and the like.

Okay, I officially started on Friday. I went to the Disney store and got some T-Shirts. Then I went online and bought some of those cool wrap things, Disney books for the kids, princess dresses and bodyglide. All of it has shipped and is on the way!

I have a list on my I-Pod of stuff to buy. I have to be stealth because the kids do not know about the trip.
