Outside lights- when they go up can vary depending on weather and when we have the time. They never go on until after Thanksgiving.
Inside lights/decoration - some stuff goes up the week or weekend after Thanksgiving. Tree goes up about a week before Christmas day.

On December 12th on the first day of the 12 days of Christmas, until the Epiphany on January 6th like God intended.

I'm ready to get in the spirit by Oct 1 but dh does not agree. I will hold off until Nov 1 begrudgingly. I don't do any Thanksgiving decorating as that's a food holiday. I have been listening to christmas music periodically and already watching christmas movies thanks to Hallmark.

I usually pick a nice day sometime around Thanksgiving. If it's early, I don't turn the timers on until Thanksgiving.

I will watch for the warmest day in the next couple of weeks. The weather dictates when the lights go up. I will turn them on the day after Thanksgiving.

Outside nothing. Inside, we make a wonderland. It's a lot of work but it's fun.

As several others have mentioned, in about 2 weeks, if we see a nice day put up the lights, that's when we'll do it. But each year it's gets smaller and less ladder work.

Inside I keep a 2 ft fiber optic tree in the living room year round. Just nice sitting in there with the lights out and the bit of twinkle from the tree.

All the other stuff will come out around Thanksgiving.

I don't need permission to put up holiday lights. I make those decisions and since we rent I only do inside decorations and they go up after the Halloween ones come down.
