Couple of questions about re-booking...

If you re-book on ship, do you still have a week to put down your deposit? Or would I have to fork over the $750 on the spot?

Also, is it possible to add a person to your cabin after you book?

How far in advance can you re-book?

Would we have to book for the same time next year?

Thanks!

When we rebooked on the ship this past August, we gave a $250.00 per person deposit at time of booking for a 7 day cruise.

You pay the $250 per person deposit when you book. Yes, it is possible to add a person later provided that the cabin will hold that number of people and that the ship is not technically "full." I know that it makes no sense to call it full if there is space in your cabin, but they look at things like ages of children for the kid programs, etc...

Thanks for the replies. That's what I thought (about the deposit). But, it puts a kink into our budget plans...

Can you re-book any time throughout the cruise? Could I book the next to last night (aka, Pay Day?)

Thanks,

When you rebook, how far away can you make the next cruise date?

Ooh yes, I'd like to know how far ahead you can re-book also.

AND I assume you can charge it- you don't have to bring that much cash- right? And if so, can they put it on 2 cards or split the charge on 2 days? I ask because for us it would be $1250 deposit (5 people) and all our cards have $1000 p/day limitations. When we booked this cruise with allseastravel- they had to put it on 2 cards.

Thanks!

You can book as far ahead as the dates are open. Yes, they take credit cards. I would think they would charge each person's deposit to a different card if requested, but I didn't specifically ask that, so maybe someone else has first hand knowledge...

The person that handles reservations will post a schedule of times she is available. I know I saw the woman I worked with working on Castaway Cay, so I don't know if she did have hours on the final day.....maybe at night??

I met a woman who was reserving a second room for a different family member and took care of it the morning of debarkation. I'm not sure if the reservation person agreed to meet her, or if she was already working her reservation table.

When I reserved they asked if I wanted to use the same TA and if so they would go ahead and set it up for transfer to that agency. I waited and did it myself a few weeks after I got home, yet still maintained the rate, the same rooms and the onboard booking credit.

Thanks for the info. Just one more question, how far out is the booking usually, ie. 6mo.,12mo. 18mo?

Okay so you can only book out as far as the dates are open?
One option MIGHT be (will have to ask when rebooking to confirm) to book for a date that is open but change it to a later date later on. I think I read someone that just got back and rebooked for May 2005 but is planning on actually cruising Dec 2005? I hope that's a possibility- cause if only a year ahead is "open" at the time of my cruise- I'm not sure I would want to book the same time the next year- at the latest. I might also rather go Dec 2006 rather than anytime up to Feb 2006. :)

My3kids- thanks. I hadn't even thought about the fact that we'll be booking 2 rooms and one adult has to be on each room's ressie... so we'll book seperate rooms like we had to this time, using each adult's credit card for each. Solves my worries about splitting the ressie up on 2 cards. :)

When we rebooked in November the dates were out to May 2005. Looks like 18 months in advance.

We booked for November 2004 and were thinking about November 2005 also. Couldn't book that far out but the CM said that we could book for May 2005 and then change the date when November 2005 was open.

Thanks. I figured it was probably 18 mo. as that was what it was to rebook after our first cruise with the Castaway club discount or whatever they were offering then. I will probably do the same with booking 18 months and then change when the other dates open.

A little food for thought.................Our last two cruises 11/29/03 Eastern and 12/01/02 Wonder (our replaced cancelled Eastern) Friday after we returned from CC I went to guest services and paid my balance with a check. I hated the thought of getting that "final bill" for our cruise with all our Christmas charges. Both checks each year didn't clear 'till the 17th. Almost two weeks both times.

They accepted the check with no problem? Wow! Most stores won't even do that without it being a huge hassle.

Thanks for the head's up. That would solve my payday problem.

Yep, no problem. They did run it in the the check guarentee thing but, if your checking is in good standing there should no problem.
