When do you make ressies day by day?

OK - we're thinking about doing our first trip home the last week of next July and want a Studio at VWL. How do you decide if you will call day by day for ressies or not? VWL is our home resort and I'll be calling next month at the 11 month point. Would this time of year and type room be okay to do it all on the checkout day or should I call each day separately?

For our summer trips I've never done a day by day. Unless you were going over a holiday, then I could possibly see the need.

We've only done day by day once, and that was for our March '04 trip for a standard view 2 bdrm at BWV. In the past, we've called on the last day and have usually been able to get what we've wanted, standard view 2bdrm. I've had to waitlist a couple of times for a night or two, but it has always come through.

If you've got the time, calling day by day really isn't that big of a deal.

I have called day-by-day a couple of times. I do it for my NYE reservations as I usually book a Standard View at BCV. This year I booked the even more elusive OKW GV for NYE.

I think you'll be fine waiting until 11 months before your check-out date for a studio at VWL .

I've booked day by day when booking Christmas week or Easter week. Otherwise I just call once for the whole reservation when I'm within the 11 month window for the whole thing.

I have done day by day for Christmas/New Year's week for a standard view at BWV. You shouldn't have to do it for next July at the VWL.

I am doing a day-by day right now. I need a 2 bdrm and a studio, standard view, at BWV in June and want to make sure I'm able to get them. Don't have enough points for preferred view and didn't want to take any chances. I have three nights to go!

I have only booked day by day twice. Once was for the Millennium New Years celebration, and once was for a GV over the holidays. Of course, I am always booking at OKW which is significantly easier.

necessary the first two weeks of December when you want a standard view at BWV, or anything at VWL - these go fast - then I would think the rest of BWV and BCV would go then OKW - expect everything for this time period to be gone at 10 months.

Thanksgiving - day by day - this one goes very fast too.

Easter - I have not tried for this time but heard that it goes fast.

these are the only times I have heard of a problem.

Are you looking to get the 4th of July holiday period? If not, then just book it at 11-months prior to your checkout date.

In 2004 July 4th is a Sunday, making monday the holiday for most everyone. There's a possibility people will want the weekend.

If you're concerned, call the 1st day and reserve that night and ask how it looks. If the resort is wide open, then it probably won't be necessary to call day by day.
