When I traveled to WDW last year, a travel agent took care of everything for us. Now that we are DVC members, I'm wondering if it's best to wait and buy tickets once we get to WDW or if I need to get them beforehand. If you do wait and buy tickets once you get there, do you buy them at the resort or the parks? Thanks!

I can't speak from experience, but we're planning to buy ours through ticketmania soon.. we go in January.

I've never bought park tickets in advance. We have no trouble getting them when we arrive. OTOH, if its a budget issue (you have the money now, might not later) then go ahead and do it.

Thanks! :thumbsup2 When you buy them upon arrival, do you get them from your resort or is there a ticket office or something you go to? :confused3

You can buy any ticket except for an AP at your resort, or at the park. If you are buying AP's, then you must go to a park or Downtown Disney.

I don't know much about the ticket discount places but I thought you got a discount from the Disney website if you bought your tickets ahead of time instead of at the park. Don't quite remember.

I always buy my tickets ahead of time and from one of the discount brokers. The cost difference for 2 adults + 2 juniors between Disney's gate price and the ticketbroker's price can be as much as $265 for 10-day premium no-expiry passes. For me, it's well worth it to plan ahead and buy online.

We're planning to buy ours in January through Orlando Ticket Deals (OTD). We go in August. It's more of a budget thing than anything - I have to buy them then, before I spend the money on something else :rotfl: I'm buying: Discovery Cove, 4 Park Flex, Makahiki Luau, 2x Universal Express Plus, Serengeti Safari @ Busch.

I've already bought my WDW tickets through Virgin Holidays (14 Day Ultimate Passes) a month ago, in order to get the free DDP, and I got a 10% Discount as a member of the Flying Club.

I'll also be getting our La Nouba tickets in April - again, totally a budgeting thing - if it were down to me, I'd get them 6 months out....

As you can see, I prefer to get mine sorted ahead of time...

Disney generally raises their ticket prices in early January of each year. This year, they suprised everyone by suddenly raising them in August. It is possible that they may still raise them in January also. I would recommend buying the tickets from an online ticket broker (check mousesavers.com for Disney-authorized brokers) before the end of the year.
Have a great trip!

I can't remember where I read this, but the advice was to buy the tickets before the end of the year, as Disney usually increases ticket prices after the first of the year. We bought ours through MapleLeaf Tickets on December 28 last year, and sure enough, prices went up January 1. I think we saved about $36-$40 total. We leave for WDW in 13 days  !

I have found that undercovertourist.com has the best prices. Ticketmania is close but undercovertourist includes shipping.

I bought 10 day non-expiry also to use for two trips and got them all at 05 prices. Actually got them in January but undercovertourist had them at last years price through a link in mousesaver newsletter.

One other place to buy an AP (not a voucher) is the disney store at the airport. I have bought them there twice so I have one when I check in for the AP discount.

I seem to squeak more than most so I am always looking for the "deal."

Why am I so cheap?

I get them off ebay 30 days prior because there is a 45 day appeals proccess where you can get your money back. Just in case... If you know what I mean!

done it twice and Never had a bad deal (knock on wood) but always have back up cash just in case 280 for a 10 day park hopper plus no expiration saved 136 bucks plus whatever tax will be.

I'm buying my tickets at Shades of Green when I get to the resort to get my discount (military get tax free). I need to show them my military ID to get the offer. They don't allow advance tickets.
