When do the rooms available for cash ressies become available for points also?

O.K. I have another question... when do the rooms that CRO holds for cash ressies open up for points ressies also. I thought I read on a previous post that eventually those rooms are opened up to DVC members at some point. I'm wondering, since for our Feb trip there are rooms available through CRO, but none through MS. I'm hoping that I can snag one of these rooms for our Feb trip!!! THANKS!!!!

I'm not sure that the CRO rooms ever open up for points. Maybe, very close to the date if they think it's a matter of them going empty vs. being rented they will release them. I think this would be on a case by case basis.

Some of the CRO rooms have already been paid for by points and are in the system to get the cash to pay for the trip the DVC member is taking outside of the DVC system. Releasing them for point usage would leave no one to "pay" for the outside trip.

You still have a chance for rooms to open up due to members cancelling/changing plans. I wouldn't give up hope yet.

Thanks Pam... That's what I figured, but I thought maybe... Well, hoping the wait list comes through... I already have everything booked, but wanted to end at VWL not AKL, but we'll see where I'll be.

We stayed at the BWV in late August of 2001. We were out of points (already allocated to other planned stays). We made a cash reservation in April. 60 days out we were able to get the members 25% discount applied. Then about 45 days out we closed on add on points. Then about 30 days out (after calling about every other day) I was able to get the stay on points.
