When do the Christmas decorations come down?

We want to go after the Christmas vacation crowd leaves. I would like to go around January 15th. Are the lights still up that week?

No, they start taking them down way before then. In the past we've gone around January 9th and they are almost all down by that point.

When we were there in early January last year the decorations were coming down. Last down seemed to be our resort (Beach Club) and the big lighted archway between Futureworld and world showcase lagoon in Epcot. I think if you are there the first week you'd see something - but by mid month they should all be down ;-(

we got there jan 6 once ( yrrrrs ago) and everything was down. then last trip we got there the 9th and the gingerbread house shell was still up at the GF( couldn't figure out what it was till i saw the show about it on food tv or where ever it was) and a few resorts had the chocolate displays out still.( i think beach club, vero beach and one more disney resort for sure still had their little scenes up but not other decorations)

however, disney never looks "undecorated "to me ie ws or mk is always magical after dark so not having seasonal decorations wouldn't be something i'd miss.

I think they begin to take decorations down on Jan 2. each year if I am not mistaken, but yes sadly by mid-January everything will be gone.

I agree with the above poster. To the best of my knowledge, things start coming down right after the New Year. While there will still be things up, full Disney Christmas regalia will mostly be shelved and stored by mid-month

Ah, oh well. We have seen it all before, but I always LOVE seeing it again.

(of course what I miss most about living in CA was the haunted mansion decorated with the Nightmare Before Christmas theme....WDW really needs to adopt that one.)
