When Do the Christmas Decorations Come Down?

We will arrive on January 9th - staying at the BWI - will the Christmas decorations still be up?

They won't be up at that time. Disney really ends the Christmas celebration starting on New Year's Day. The decorations might be up before Thanksgiving but the special stuff starts the day after Thanksgiving and ends on New Year's.

But you'll be going at such an uncrowded time. Enjoy it!

Last year the theme park decorations were down before the marathon - except for the lights of winter in Epcot and they weren't turned on, except for the marathon. Half marathon will be 1/7 and full marathon will be 1/8. The resort decorations may still be up until maybe that Sunday night (1/8).

I was there the first week in January last year and watched as they used a crane to disassemble the giant Christmas tree in front of the Contemporary Resort. It is actually made up of 4 parts.

Thanks. It's no big deal because by that time, I'm really "over" Christmas, if you know what I mean. Someday I would like to go to WDW between Thanksgiving and Christmas to see the decorations. I would be in the mood at the time, but not so much in January.
