Anyone know when the TA's need to release the cabins they are holding back to DCL. Is it a few weeks before a sailing or closer to sailing....thanks. I know the larger agencies like All Seasons, DU, Costco, etc. can have their own inventory and was just wondering when they have to give back the unsold ones.

Don't know for sure, but my guess would be they would have to do it before the 60 day mark.

I thought it must be less since cruise.com and All Seasons still show other availability than what DCL shows for a cruise next month.

Wish I knew for sure....

Not sure what DCL's policy is. Travel agent my mom uses buys blocks of rooms on lines like Celebrity. If they don't resell them, they have to eat the loss. Never happened yet. They usually save one cabin for for the owner, and one for a staff member to use, several times they have had to sell those because demand exceeded the number of cabins they bought.
Last trip my mom took with them cost her $399 for a 7 day SF to Monterey, to Catalina, to Cabo and back trip on the Mercury. They get a big discount buying that many cabins.
