Spring Direct Incentives 2/9-4/27

What a stunning departure from the way DVC has traditionally been sold - this high pressure sales tactic looks more like something you hear about in other countries where they drive you to another sales location and put things in your drink. I thought DVD was above that kind of petty nonsense.

I do understand the concept of getting the sale while the iron is hot, and you don't want people leaving to "think about it", but this looks a lot more desperate than the relaxed attitude of years past where the "math" of savings vs cash room rates was self-evident enough to sell points.
💯 💯 Honestly when she was explaining the whole 7 day thing to me, that we have to do this now because she already revealed the prices and incentives to me, it just felt so unnecessary and confusing to me. I wanted to purchase and was ready and had no intention of backing out. I still dont quite understand it. 🤷‍♀️

In line to meet Russell and Dug and checked my email and it said save $10,500!! I thought hmm that looks like a higher number than I normally get emails for. So popped over here to see what happened. Congrats tho those who saved by buying last incentive.
I think the whole save $1000 off on every resort is a smart sales tactic. It sounds better than last incentive cycle (except for $1500 off vdh) even though its not 😆

Well, at least DVC gives you 7 days to think about it. Many other timeshares don't. As soon as you leave the sales presentation, the deal is expired (or so they say). They even make you sign a sheet of paper saying you are declining the deal and won't get it again. I signed Mickey Mouse's signature on it when they asked me to sign at a Bluegreen presentation.

I agree that this is a departure from how DVC has done things and it is not a good change. But anyone who thinks what DVC is doing now is high pressure should walk down Ocean Blvd in Myrtle Beach and agree to a presentation for Westgate or Bluegreen or one of the other timeshare systems and compare.

Would they offer that though? I though MB was only offered on actively selling properties?
It's offered on CCV and I've heard others say it is also offered when buying one of the sold-out properties that is not having a "flash sale."

Edit: But, my understanding is that is the only extra "incentive" they will offer - none of the others that are sometimes offered like D23, referral, Disney Visa, etc.

Yes, incentive maxes out for 200 points - so $215-$45=$170. Down to $150 with magical beginnings.
Boyohboyohboy. Dues lower than vdh too. I need to do the math on what im paying for 150 points there vs 200 at ssr. I think it will sway me. My only pause is the shorter expiration date. But it kind of aligns with the resorts I have now anyways. Already have 1 ssr, then my other expiration dates are 2060 and 2057. The home resort priority really doesnt mean much to me at all. But vdh has 20 more years on it. Thats a long time. When ssr expires ill be 69. When vdh expires ill be 89. Do I want this until im 89? I feel like ill have to start purchasing more anyways in 2057 when akv is done and I can start all over. Time to do some math!
