When do holiday decorations go up

We have in the past been there right after Christmas and saw all the beautiful decorations. This year we're going Nov 17 to the 22nd. I know they come down overnight but since we are leaving 2 days before Thanksgiving, will we miss them all. I'm hoping they take longer to go up and we will see at least some of them. I know we'll miss the Osborne lights.

They used to "magically" appear the morning after Thanksgiving. Now that the parks and resorts have gotten so big, they do start putting them up a week or two prior to Christmas. I'm not sure how much you'll see, but you should catch at least some of the decorations.

I think Pam probably meant "a week or two prior to Thanksgiving."

Last year The Dis had the official WDW schedule posted. If memory serves, they started with individual resorts and moved on to Downtown Disney and the theme parks. I want to say that the process began around November 10th or 12th. It was about 2 weeks before all areas had been decorated.

That late? "A week or two" before Christmas means no decorations until the 11th - 18th.

The last two years, we've gotten to see the decorations at the end of our Jersey week trip. In 2003, BC, BCV&YC were up by Wednesday & BW was up by Friday. I took pictures of the BW decorations before we left.

I also copied the BC decorations when we got home. My son wanted color & my daughter only wants white lights (claims she's a "purist"), so by copying BC, I was able to give them both. BC had beautiful fake fir garlands with colorful beach themed ornaments wired onto them; I hit Target & got four large cylinders of (plastic) ornaments & used florist wire to wire them on to garlands & wreaths.

Hopefully, they'll be up around the same time this year & you can all get inspired too!

Thank you for all the helpful info. I will settle for even some of the decos up. I am so anxious. It's been since last year that we were there and this will be our first trip home.
