When did you first join DVC?

October, 2000 for initial purchase. Since then, 2 add-ons.

We toured in 1992 on our honeymoon at Key West and decided we needed a real home first. Toured HH in 1995 before it was even built (was staying within walking distance with friends who owned another timeshare). Was pregnant with child #1 at that time and decided kids would/should come first. FINALLY bought in October 2001. Added on this past July.

Well, we did the whole thing through the mail, never saw it, never needed to before we bought. We started the paperwork in October 1991, the earliest Disney would mail us the info. Actually we were harrassing them since Feb 1991 when we first heard about it!! Due to personal reasons we were not able to make a visit to Disney that year or we would have really been the first people! LOL!! Our guide told us we were one of the first ten to buy through the mail. I know there are other people on this board who bought in early too. We are all around each other. I can remember carrying our paperwork and an artist's concept drawing (yes I had no pictures!!) around to prove to people that it was really in DisneyWorld. Nobody believed me, they just walked away shaking their heads and muttering "poor thing she thinks it's really IN Disney". Well, we've been laughing ever since!!

We just bought into DVC a few months ago and we are less than two weeks away from our first trip 'home'!!

Obviously, we are excited and can't wait to see what we bought into sight unseen.

May 2001---DH and I bought in as a 25th anniversary present to each other. We've been 3 times since as DVC members and are leaving 10/30/03 for trip #4 to the F&WF---our first adult only trip!

July 1993 for us, bought sight unseen. First stay was in Aug '93 Building 38, 2 Bedroom #3810, WOW new at once we did the right thing. Have done 3 add-ons since, and looking for more.

We joined in February, 1992. It was the best presentation that I ever attended. Our guide apologized for not having a tour of the resort because they did not want to inconvenioence the guests who were staying there. The resort ended at the bridge by HH, the other buildings along Millers Road were nearing completion, and we spent 5 hours asking questions and making decisions! The best purchase I ever made! Eleven years of memories and great vacations!

Have so much fun just planning them.
Can't even imagine all the fun some have had. Like the ones that joined in the early 90's. Way to Go!

We joined last month on our first trip to Disney as a family.

I have been a few times as a child and when I graduated high school. However, my wife had never been and it is all I have heard about since.

We visited stayed onsite for the first time in 10/92 at "Disney's Vacation Club" (now known as "Old Key West") but we didn't purchase until 12/93. We've never regretted it!

Other than showing that most DISboard posters on the DVC forum bought into DVC within the last 4 years, is there anything else we can conclude here?

- Sales of DVC continue to ramp, and is represented by the results?
- DISboards help to increase sales of DVC?
- OKW members stopped signing onto the DISboard?

Do you think that DISboard members represent a statistical cross section of the DVC membership? I have a difficult time making any sense out of these polls, though they are really fun to read..

Hmm. Maybe that's what this means.

I would love to see statistics from DVC about this. While I find the poll great, I don't think it is very representative of the population of DVC. Although I am sure the interest has grown with the inventory. I am sure that you can see that I am an accountant.
