When Did Savi's go to Prepaid?

Booked a reservation for Sav's Workshop for June and did not realize until later that it is now prepaid. Does anyone know when they implemented this change?

I’m not much of a speculator as I think it is a waste of brain power but my 2c on this one is they probably had too many no shows. Good way to assure they show is to charge the $250 at booking!

Just my opinion, but going pre-paid will weed out most of the people who might make multiple reservations for this experience if they haven't quite committed to a set itinerary or want to keep their schedules flexible and decide last minute. Not many people will hoard multiple reservations if they have to prepay $250 for each one.

Not sure about the rest of the year, but it sold out for May 4 sometime between 12am and 9am the day it was available. The next 7 days after the 4th are completely open. DHS is also still $25 more than Disneyland for no good reason.

We purchased a large amount of gift cards for our upcoming trip this summer and a large part of that was budgeted for lightsaber building. I'm hoping there's a way you can convert your payment method to gift card when you check in the day of.
