When Did I get Voted Off of Skinny Island #2: Castaway's Land Ho!!!!

I'm not sure if I made this clear before (and maybe no one cares but me :confused3 although I'm going to clarify it anyway :laughing:) but my size 16 items are mostly NEW!! :cheer2:

When they have end of season clearance sales at my favourite stores, I always buy an item or two in my current size, but mostly I get items a size or two down as motivation to keep losing weight. I have a walk in closet all to myself so when pants and things are on for $10, I stock up!! :thumbsup2

So my closet is well populated with several items brand spanking new in size 16 (which I can now begin wearing :woohoo:) and several in size 14 which I look forward to wearing a few more months from now. I began as a size 20 so I never went any lower than a regular size 15 at Reitmans (which is nearly the same size as the plus size 14) and the size 14 at Ricki's.

My sister began giving me items a few months ago, so though not strictly new in a "tags still on" sense, they are items I've never worn before. And she's got CLOTHES, so most of her stuff didn't get much wear before she shrunk down another size so they're all in excellent condition and not terribly out of fashion!!

I can't wait until I'm able to start buying a size 13 at Reitmans and a Ricki's 12!!!

Couldn't get connection all weekend. Had a wonderful time, but not the best eating choices.

Had the day off and spent it helping Steven clean his room (took ALL day).

I'm exhaused and I twisted my knee coming down the stairs. I'll spend time tomorrow catching up.

Lunch: salmon, FF cheese, cauliflower, roll. 6pts.

Excercise: 3 miles. And we shaved off a few minutes last night, but I think it's because the humidity is MUCH lower here now. Wasn't nearly as miserable as it had been.

My goals for this week:
1. Get in 20 miles of walking.
2. Continue tracking and stay within my points range of 25-27.

I'm -1 lb from last week. I'm on vacation in California right now, so I guess I should be happy I am not seeing big numbers with a plus sign in front. Lots of good food here, and I'm certainly eating a lot more than what I usually do at home. But I'm also walking a ton everyday and my sore, blistered feet can attest to the calories I've been burning off. Visited Catalina island, LA and San Diego last week, just got back to my parents place in northern CA last night. A few more days of the awesome food and I might be scared of stepping on the scale next Monday. It's hard to stop gorging on the scrumptious Asian food that I can't find in North Carolina. But I'm trying to get my exercise in and fill up on vegetables as well. The weather here is gorgeous, 74 degrees, blue skies and no humidity. I'm going to miss this the most when I go back to NC later this week.

I actually "got it," but my comment sounded otherwise since I'm going to have to settle for fitting into my "old clothes." I won't get any "new clothes" until I reach a 12. You can probably imagine how bad my closet looks from that statement. I rarely clear out old clothes. On the up side, many of them look brand new, at least to me. And if I get down to a 12, or better yet a 10, I will deserve the shopping trip!

That really is a great idea!! I do that for my children as they are growing, but it never really occurred to me to do this as I am shrinking! ;)

Dessert: 1/2 container Ben and Jerry's Americone Dream Ice Cream. Brent is an enabler and I just go right along. Sigh.

Congratulations to all the loosers out there this week. That just sounds bad but you all know what I mean :lovestruc

I think I was having some issues yesterday. I weighed myself, came upstairs and had breakfast started working and couldn't remember what my weigh in was! So my redo was this morning and I am -2.4lbs. After a rough couple of weeks I am glad to be back down into the next 10's. I still have about 1.5lbs to go to get to where I was about a month ago until I had my fall from the raft but hopefully I will get there by next week and then we start all over again.
 
Is there a trick to putting the my fitness pal ticker up?? Now matter how I try it, it doesn't work for me. :confused3 Just wondering.

I just noticed that there are at least three of us dealing with TOM issues right now. I thought it was funny!! Even hundreds of miles apart, some of us are getting in sync. (I'm going to pretend that I don't realize that it's likely just coincidental that our cycles seem to match. :lmao:)

Doing fairly well so far this week on the exercise front.:thumbsup2 I was worried that I'd end up wimping out about it, yet again since TOM cramps are such a common excuse for me not to exercise but thankfully, it hasn't prevented me thus far.

Yesterday I was under my daily points by a little bit. I had 4 left over but I didn't really feel like eating anything so in the end, I didn't have an after dinner snack. I still war with myself over eating every point vs. not eating when I am not hungry and although I rooted around in the cupboards in the end there was nothing that appealed. Hopefully it doesn't damage my progress this week.

Congrats to all who reported a success of any kind this week!! I hope our next weigh in day brings the same kind of happy reports to everyone!!

I was under on carbs...what? I'm really bad at eating balanced apparently.

A comment on the fat free cheese: Yuck. I don't think I'll be buying that again. I'll finish the bag because I don't like to be wasteful, but I really cannot stand the taste! I'll just try low-fat instead of no-fat next time.

I thought dinner would be worse on the calorie count...I just sort of used similar things on Spark to what I ate. Like Chili's chicken fajitas, El Pollo Loco spanish rice, etc. Mexican food is one of the things I have real trouble holding back on...I will generally eat every bit of what gets set in front of me, including massive amounts of chips and salsa and/or queso dip. I kept it to a couple handfuls of chips last night, and brought a whole lot of my meal home, only ate about 1/3 of it. :thumbsup2

A question: Is it better to eat towards the low or high end of my calorie range?


In other news...I ordered a great skirt online which I received yesterday...I like it, but I'm not sure what I'm going to wear with it. I ordered it on a whim because it was on sale last week.

I'm + 3.1 lbs since I sent my weigh into Dawn last... which was July 6.


Honestly you guys, I'm not proud proud of myself but I am...


I only gained 3.1 lbs in 6 wks off the boards, 6 wks not tracking, 6 wks not exercising as much and a full 4 days EATING at Disney, plus 3 more days eating out at MILs house.



I'm proud of you both!! I have been known to gain 10 lbs from a week splurging on vacation. Any sort of loss, or even just a small gain is definitely impressive!
 
I'm celebrating a small victory today! We had a meeting at lunch and they brought Pizza Hut(my favorite!) and I limited myself to one piece and my apple instead of the 2 pieces I normally would have. Small steps! :cheer2:
