When Did I get Voted Off of Skinny Island #2: Castaway's Land Ho!!!!

GREAT JOB TODAY YA'LL! LOTS OF PEOPLE MAKING THE RIGHT DECISIONS!

I had a small vicotry today too! The cafe in my hubby's building reopened today so we went for breakfast to try it out. I ordered a ham/cheese/salsa breakfast wrap with egg whites. IT WAS HUGE! I am just telling you that 4 weeks ago I would've eaten it without thinking twice. Today I cut it in half and had half for breakfast and half for lunch!! YAY ME!!!

So today:

BREAKFAST/LUNCH: Said ham wrap, 1/2 order grits, hashbrowns
Dinner: Healthy choice fresh mixer
Snack: Skinny Cow fudge chocolate cone (O...M...G!)

Total: 1237!!!

TRACKING DONE!!!

Hey Guys, sorry for another short post but I'm dealing with a sick child today so I haven't had much time for anything other than Dr. Mom duty.

brkfst - yogurt, coffee w/creamer
snack - blueberries 1/2 cup
lunch - black bean salad 1/2 cup, cut up veggies (peppers, tomatoes, cucumber) w/light ranch dip, chips & salsa
supper - chicken sammie on arnold thin w/wasabi mayonnaise, chips & salsa
dessert - jello mousse temptation

hard to believe but I stayed within my points range with all that, which is a lot of food for my measly 22 point allotment
Went to gym and ran 4.5 miles & came home to a sick child. Lucas has run a fever of 99 or more for over 24 hours. I'm thankful he's not in pre-school yet, so we're not missing much hanging around the house.

My baby is starting second grade this year too. She's my youngest. I can hardly believe it!!

I know!! Does it get any easier?! Does it sink in finally or will we always not be able to believe?

Hello, fellow drifter! See, this is one of the great things about this group. At least if we're stuck adrift, we can drift together! And of course we can also work together to paddle ourselves back to Skinny Island.

Exactly!! Glad to have someone to try to paddle back with!

This is the view behind my computer screen, overlooking my back yard. I chose the layout of our house so that I could enjoy the view of our property, so bringing my plans to reality is quite gratifying.

100_4082.jpg

Looks great!!! That is really cool that you had that view in mind all along and you finally got to enjoy it at a desk that works for you! Awesome!

Good morning, all! I am at +.2 for the week- apparently I found some of the weight Patrick lost, LOL! I'm not upset at all, I was up 4-5 lbs until Thursday, and TOM showed up Fri, so I was expecting it, and just happy it wasn't more!

Great attitude about the gain! And happy licking! :rotfl:

Crap! I totally forgot to weigh in this morning! I was trying to remember everything I have to get done today and weighing in must not have been on the top of my list - imagine that !

I wish I could FORGET to weigh in. It's the FIRST thing I think of every morning!

Amiee, yet another cute puppy face to look at. Wow - she's got some big ears on her!

She does!! Our long hair had huge ears too. They grow into them... most of the time. :rolleyes1

Aimee and Sheree, my baby is starting 5th grade next week. It dawned on me that this will be our last year in elementary school. My SIL tells me all the time that once they get into middle school, it's like you blink and they're in college. It seems to go by THAT fast. I've kind of been in the downey dumps for a few days now and I think maybe this is one of the reasons. I'm normally not like this, but it's just getting to me for some reason this year.

Glad to know I'm not the only mom that gets a little sad at the beginning of new school years!

Down -3.1! I was actually expecting better, the last couple times I've tried to lose the weight has fallen off the first couple weeks (like 5-7 lbs a week!). Not so this time I guess.

Weight loss is so fickle! "Little" losses add up quickly. The longer I've trudged at weight loss the smaller the losses are every week. But a loss is a loss!

Does anyone have trouble with self sabotage when a deadline is coming up weightwise?

I so do this. Wish I could figure out why. Knowing full well I have x number of weeks until x event I can't seem to keep from stuffing my face, even though I know I could totally lose another 10 lbs in that time frame. If you figure it out, let me know!

Hi everyone. It's time to face the ugly truth. I fell off the wagon hard this summer and gained 5 lbs. It's time to get back on WW and start losing again. Sorry I've been MIA for a month. I hope you guys will take me back.

:welcome: back Sherry!! Glad to see you on here!! Come on back. I just got back on the raft myself!

A little help, please, oh knowledgeable Skinny Island voyagers! My folks want to go out to an authentic Mexican place for dinner in a little while and I'd like to go with them...I've been pretty good so I figure it'll be ok.

But what is the best thing for me to get calorie/fat-wise? Fajitas maybe? I know getting corn tortillas is better than flour.

How'd you do? What did you end up ordering?

Mexican food gets me EVERY time! Those darn chips and salsa!

I know I should not be disappointed but that perfectionist in me thinks about what choices could have been better but I will take it!

I fight the perfectionist too so I feel ya on that one!

Baylor is off to burn camp in Colorado, Carsyn is up north for 2 weeks for camp as a counselor and I have a ton of work this week to get done! Dan and I are heading out of town for my birthday this weekend. Just to Duluth for you locals but it will be nice and then on Monday Baylor will fly in and he need to get to football practice and then maybe we will get some dinner.

That's so cool that there are so many burn camps around the nation. I never knew of them until Baylor's story! Have a great time this weekend on your birthday trip with Dan the man!

I will catch up tom! I am off carpet cleaning the basement and bedrooms while everybody is gone!!

What do you use to carpet clean? I need to do it as well and am debating between hiring someone or attempting it myself.

I'm not sure if I made this clear before (and maybe no one cares but me although I'm going to clarify it anyway ) but my size 16 items are mostly NEW!!

Nooooo?? They're new? I didn't know that!

:lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

Ok, couldn't resist. I think it's AWESOME that you have all kinds of new stuff hanging in your closest as motivation and reward for your weight loss. I have a few things that are a little snug that I bought anyway and would love to get into, but it's not like I have several sizes smaller waiting for me. Great idea!

I can't wait until I'm able to start buying a size 13 at Reitmans and a Ricki's 12!!!

You're so close!! I can't wait til you get there either!!

Couldn't get connection all weekend. Had a wonderful time, but not the best eating choices.

Glad y'all had a great time!!

Had the day off and spent it helping Steven clean his room (took ALL day).

About to tackle DS7's room! Wish me luck! I've already made him sort all his legos and boy was that a task and half.

4 red vines

Ok, gotta ask. What's a red vine?

Is there a trick to putting the my fitness pal ticker up?? Now matter how I try it, it doesn't work for me. :confused3 Just wondering.

Have you tried to link it as a url ? Otherwise don't know what to tell ya!

I just noticed that there are at least three of us dealing with TOM issues
es right now. I thought it was funny!! Even hundreds of miles apart, some of us are getting in sync. (I'm going to pretend that I don't realize that it's likely just coincidental that our cycles seem to match. :lmao:)

I noticed the same thing. But I guess if you put enough women together law of averages says 25% will be on the same week for TOM. Guess we'll have to wait and see if everyone else aligns themselves too.

Where are you at point wise per day now?

A comment on the fat free cheese: Yuck. I don't think I'll be buying that again. I'll finish the bag because I don't like to be wasteful, but I really cannot stand the taste! I'll just try low-fat instead of no-fat next time.

Can't standddddddddd fat free cheese. Would rather have no cheese than fat free cheese! I can handle reduced fat though.

I thought dinner would be worse on the calorie count...I just sort of used similar things on Spark to what I ate. Like Chili's chicken fajitas, El Pollo Loco spanish rice, etc. Mexican food is one of the things I have real trouble holding back on...I will generally eat every bit of what gets set in front of me, including massive amounts of chips and salsa and/or queso dip. I kept it to a couple handfuls of chips last night, and brought a whole lot of my meal home, only ate about 1/3 of it. :thumbsup2

Exactly what I was asking in my earlier question! You can ignore it now. :lmao:

Way to go on controlling it!!

A question: Is it better to eat towards the low or high end of my calorie range?

From everything I've read on various weight loss sites and boards it's better to vary your calorie intake. Keep your body guessing. Somedays hit the low end of the range, some days the higher, some days the middle. Don't know if there's any truth to it but it's supposed to keep your body from adjusting to your new calorie intake.

In other news...I ordered a great skirt online which I received yesterday...I like it, but I'm not sure what I'm going to wear with it. I ordered it on a whim because it was on sale last week.

Here's a picture from the website:
256_4.jpg

I'm digging the skirt. Willing to bet you'll find someplace to wear it eventually! Ya never know!

Just found hips and curves a few weeks ago. Wish I'd found it BEFORE I started trying to get out of the plus size clothes sizes. They've got some sexxxxxxxay stuff on there. YOWZER!

I'm proud of you both!! I have been known to gain 10 lbs from a week splurging on vacation. Any sort of loss, or even just a small gain is definitely impressive!

Thank you!! Was already down some this morning. Now I just have to keep it up over the weekend!

I'm celebrating a small victory today! We had a meeting at lunch and they brought Pizza Hut(my favorite!) and I limited myself to one piece and my apple instead of the 2 pieces I normally would have. Small steps! :cheer2:

WTG!!!! :woohoo:

YAY!! Good for you!
I had a similar victory today. Office mate brought in cupcakes. Some large, some small. I took one mini cupcake. There are still two large ones that I'm trying not to see. So if I say it right here, "I'm not going to eat it!!!", I will have to be accountable to you guys.

I'M NOT GOING TO EAT IT!!!

Look at all of us losers!!! WE ROCK!:yay::cool1:

Well... did ya eat it??

I bet you didn't!!

WOO HOO Sheree!! :yay:

GREAT JOB TODAY YA'LL! LOTS OF PEOPLE MAKING THE RIGHT DECISIONS!

Hey Guys, sorry for another short post but I'm dealing with a sick child today so I haven't had much time for anything other than Dr. Mom duty.

Way to figure out how to get a lot of food out of your 22 point allotment!

So sorry to hear that Lucas is sick!! Hope he gets better soon!

Susan- I think it was you that commented about how long it took me to go through all the logging. It's not that bad really... like I said the green helps as your scrolling through. I've developed a method of checks and names and dates and two checks for veggies tracked as well. It goes pretty quickly.

That being said I never want to be 6 weeks behind again! :lmao:

I officially renewed my WW subscription today. I'm excited to get started again.

Need to go to the grocery store sometime soon. It amazes me when we actually eat at home how quickly we go through food. UGH! Gotta get a list together and plan out meals for this weekend and next week with school starting back. The last two years we've let DS7 pick his first night of school meal so I'll have to get his input on that.

I've done ok on food today.

Late Breakfast - 2 scrambled eggs and 1 piece of toast w 1 tbsp light canola butter
snack - chocolate teddy grams, 2 servings... couldn't quite eating the stupid things
Dinner - healthy choice BBQ chicken entree, 1/2 cups mac and cheese

The one thing that I have to quit doing is drinking sweet tea! I crave it during the summer and vacationing in the south it was available everywhere. I ordered a gallon of it Saturday night I guess when I ordered the fried chicken delivery and I'm still working on that gallon so I'm not downing it but I'll be glad when it's gone. I'm trying to drink it as a sweet treat and not with my meals, which is when I tend to drink the most.

Hubby has closed the last 4 nights. Something he used to do a lot but hasn't had to do in the last few years. We're all exhausted and our schedules are so mixed up. Which is not good for the week before school starts back. Hub's isn't getting home til 2am. Then he wants some down time/unwind time which I get but I'm just TIRED. I probably haven't recovered from vacation yet either. I've got to figure out a way to rest up before next week. Once school starts, we're off running.

Thankfully I'm done with all the school supply and clothes shopping. DS7 needs a haircut but that's about the extent of preparation we still need to do. Meet the teacher is next Monday. I should hear in the next few days who is teacher is. Praying for a good teacher this year. I had some issues with last year's teacher.

Catch you guys later!! Happy WISHing!

I know!! Does it get any easier?! Does it sink in finally or will we always not be able to believe?

I don't think it gets any easier. My older DD is starting 4th grade and I still think she should only be about 3 years old! After all, I haven't aged!

Ok, gotta ask. What's a red vine?

red licorice candy

Well... did ya eat it??

I bet you didn't!!

WOO HOO Sheree!! :yay:

Well no, in fact I did not eat it. However, I was making a dessert to bring to a dinner tomorrow...ate an Oreo and licked the bowl a bit making brownies. Hopefully still not as much as a frosted cupcake would have been!

Whoever said Fat Free cheese sucks - RIGHT ON! That stuff is gross! I can handle reduced fat cheese, cream cheese and sour cream. But no fat free. Even Greek Yogurt - the 0% fat is so chalky tasting! Ugh. I'll take the 2% fat.

We really appreciate all the time you take to do it. I guess I better track for today to give you something to do!

Way to go girl!!!

I should hear in the next few days who is teacher is. Praying for a good teacher this year. I had some issues with last year's teacher.

Catch you guys later!! Happy WISHing!

We are almost done with school supply shopping. Just need odd things - disposable camera, tissues, clorox wipes. That can wait until the week before. We don't find out our teachers until the end of next week, although DD7 knows who she got, sort of by accident. DD9's teacher from last year is moving classrooms and will be teaching 2nd grade after teaching a 2/3 split last year. Sarah had her both for 2 and 3 (2 years in a row). She had asked if Sarah might want to come in this summer and help her move her stuff to the new room. She emailed me the other day and said she was able to track down our email b/c Paige is in her class! I don't think we are supposed to know yet, so I won't let her tell her BFF. I'm pleased, because she's a wonderful teacher and I know her pretty well now. The other teacher is great too, so it would not have mattered much. Now Sarah has to wait to find out until next week!

Okay - Tracking for today:
B: Life cereal/ blueberries/1% milk, mini bagel w/ PB

Coffee: lg Caribou Mocha w/ skim !!!!
L: Yogurt, Lean Cuisine stir fry dinner
S: 1 mini cupcake, lauging cow light cheese wedge, 2 RyKrisp crackers.
D: spaghetti w/marinara and two meatballs
S: one oreo and some brownie batter
Sierra Mist (not diet) - upset stomach

I put in some info into the fatsecret app on my phone - I didn't include all of it and came out at 1804 calories. Pretty sure that's too many!!
My recommended is at 1600 according to fatsecret.
I did burn about 200 calories walking. Obviously, I know what my mistakes were.

Attention all you WW online peeps:

What do y'all think about forming a Skinny Island group on the WW boards?

NOT to replace the WISH thread by ANY means. In fact I doubt we'd post over there at all, but it might be the easier way to find each other on WW.

Let me know what y'all think. If y'all like the idea, I'll be glad to create the group and send out the invites. If everyone wants to do it all I'll need is your WW online id via PM.

Skinny island #177
Julie – Great news on getting into the size 16s. How fantastic for you. I can’t wait to see the pics from the date night!

Dawn – your lasagna sounds absolutely yummy. I’ve always just done cheese, meat and sauce. I’ll have to experiment more and add more stuff to my next batch.

Susan – I did the dual tracking as well with WW and SP and found the same thing. Within my points but not getting enough protein and WAY too many carbs. That’s one of the reasons I like SP better. I’ve also added Fiber tracking (it only shows on the lower tracking) I should add iron to see if I can do better eating enough iron. I’d rather eat it than take the supplements.

Elizabeth – Welcome back! Good to hear you are going to spend some time on yourself. I know how time can get sucked away doing for your family but that is one thing that I have a hard time with as well. To do something just for me, it actually gives me more energy to do things for the family. Cleaning must have been in the air lately I spent all Monday in Steven’s room.

Amy – Welcome back! What program are you following?

Julie – WOW! You look fantastic in your date outfit. I can totally relate to something driving you nuts and tossing it. Life is too short to wear stuff just because you have it in your closet if you are uncomfortable wearing it.

Michele and Aimee – I’m pretty sure that I mentioned this but like Aimee said 200+ pages is a lot to remember. My oldest son has been diagnosed with Asperger’s and ADHD (without hyperactivity) so I know first hand how important you (and your sister) are to the kids. We’ve had some amazing teachers and they really do make all the difference in a kid’s life.

Aimee – I agree, the time just seems to blow by. My youngest just started back to Jr. College today and I swear he was just starting high school just last week. I think your revelation is very important. I know I do much better when we’ve pre-planned out our meals for the week. My husband loves to cook and once made the comment that he liked his cooking better than mine and ever since then I’m really resistant to do all the cooking. But I can imagine if my husband was a chef then I would really be intimidated. Red Vines are red licorice (NOT twizzlers).

Amanda – Way to push past SPs goal for you!!! Wouldn’t it be fantastic if we could listen to the threads on the boards? I could get through so many more threads, alas I have to wait to read and I’m WAY behind on the boards.

Barb – Congratulations on your next 10s! I’ve been thinking about Halloween costumes for a while (we’re going to MNSSHP) and we’ve got everyone but mine decided on. Anyone have any suggestions for a fairly cool Disney themed costume that a 48 year old wouldn’t look stupid wearing?

Tricia – I do it all the time. I get going great guns and drop some weight and then the next week its like the flood gates of food are open and I’ve been starved and bounce right back up again. Hence its taken me FOREVER to lose weight.

Sherry, Sara – Welcome back!!!

Julie – I’ve really got to get that recipe program loaded and start putting these recipes into the computer. They really sound good and hopefully will get me out of my food rut. For your weekend at Church group. Can you take some safe food along? Having a safe snack that you can have might help you between meals so you can eat smaller portions during meals. Chances are they will at least have a salad bar. Fill up on that (maybe bring a bottle of your favorite salad dressing and ask the kitchen staff to store it in the fridge for you).

Leen – where are you in N. Cal? I’m 40 miles east of SF. Have you made it to the Disney Museum?

Bree – I’m so sorry Lucas is feeling under the weather. Hopefully it’s a 24 hour bug and he’ll feel better tomorrow.

WHEW! It just took me two hours to get all caught up.

We had a fantastic weekend “camping” I hope to get my pictures loaded tomorrow so you can see we didn’t “rough it” in any stretch of the imagination. We didn’t do any camp cooking so I tried to make the best choices, but the weekend didn’t start out well when we had lunch at Johnny Garlics (Guy Fieri’s restaurant) I didn’t mean to eat all the chips or fried onion strips, but somehow they were completely gone at the end of the meal. Next time I just have to tell them to not put them on the plate.

We walked a lot and then on Sunday we went canoeing down the river with Brendan and Charlotte. It was a very relaxing day.

For those of you who asked if it gets any easier having your kids go off to school. I’m here to tell you NOPE! Like I said Brendan just started back at jr. college today and I went right back into overprotective mother “do you have a notebook, pencil, parking permit, etc…” called him after his classes and asked “do you like it?” He’s 20 years old and still wanted to take a picture of him outside the door like we did on the first day every year (I resisted the urge).

I did pretty well today until dinner. I haven’t had time to log it into SP to know how I did

Aimee:

I'm in for the ww online group...I actually thought of that before but back then there didn't seem to be as many of us using it. I don't post there at all usually but I know I would use it at least now and then if some of you guys were over there. I need to go and see about the ID though, it's been quite a while so I'm not sure I remember what it is. I think though, that it's going to seem familiar!!

Jane:

Glad you're back and that you had a good time. Thanks for the suggestion about the salad dressing. I hadn't thought of that. I did stock up on low point snacks that I can have if the food they serve is scary and I need to eat tiny portions of it.

Patrick:

Sorry to hear you lost your long post. That's frustrating!! :headache: Especially since you haven't had much time to do more than quick posts recently. I hope it doesn't happen to you again.

Personal Update:

Things are going well here...I've been getting in my exercise like I aimed to do so I'm proud of myself for that. I've also been sticking to my daily points and saving my flex points for this coming weekend. I seriously hope that I don't need to use too many of them though.

So all these free dining deals that Disney has been having has me SERIOUSLY jonesing for another trip back to the World...and I just don't see it happening any time soon!! First of all we are still getting out of debt and once that is done we will be saving up for our Mediterranean cruise so there will be no money to spare for at least a year. Lately, Randy has also begun buying some of the materials necessary to start finishing the basement...so I just can't find any money to spare for Disney besides our loose change and that isn't adding up quickly enough to take advantage of the free dining. :guilty:

I just keep thinking...if there was only a way that I could come up with making a little extra money then we'd be able to go but so far...I've got nuthin!! I can't really take on a job because DS is still only in school part time and Randy is working full time AND finishing up his PhD so I can't really ask him to pick up the slack while I work for non essentials. And I haven't come across anything that works within DS's school schedule nor any work I can do from home.

So, I guess I'll just have to wait for the next Disney installement :sad2: OR win the lottery...but since I don't buy tickets...that doesn't seem likely. :rotfl2: Frankly, nor does inheriting the money because I don't have any rich relatives. :confused3

Okay, pouting all done!! Thanks for listening.

Quick question:

If anyone doing WW (or otherwise) would like MEAL ideas or specific recipes for something, I'd be happy to look them up and post them here online. Just let me know and I'll get right on it. Also, I can start working on the two point value list if anyone is interested. Anyone interested??

Just another quick tracking post for me. Work is super busy today, then I have to leave to take Malachi for his football physical @ 3:30. Then, he has his official football weigh-ins @ 6 tonight. He's been practicing for 2-1/2 weeks now and making better food choices, so I'm anxious to see if he's lost any weight. The max weight for his team's age group is 130 and he was 120 @ his last weigh in. Then after that, we have church @ 7. Whew - busy day!

Tuesday, August 17th

Oh my word this has been a crazy week! Thanks everyone for the well wishes for Lucas. He's gone from a pitiful sick child to an annoying sick child. He's been fever free since 4am but I still don't feel good about taking him anywhere. Greg went to Atlanta for business so that leaves me stuck. I really think Lucas & I are sick of each other :rotfl2:

Anyway here's my food log for yesterday:
brkfst - yogurt, coffee w/creamer
lunch - turkey pastrami with pumpernickle pretzel rods, peach
snack - cut up fresh pineapple
dinner - 4 saltines w/peanut butter (story to follow), chips & salsa
dessert - half a choccy cupcake w/peanut butter frosting

ok - so my b-day is today. We were going to go to dinner last night but Lucas being sick & Greg's business travel postponed that until tomorrow. I thought that some egg salad would be yummy & easy for supper so I went about making it, & didn't realize that one of the eggs were bad until....the first bite! GACK!!!!!!! I seriously thought I was gonna puke everywhere & my stomach was unsettled the rest of the night. My sweet Greg had gone by the bakery & picked up 3 cupcakes for us & I made myself eat half of mine so his feelings wouldn't be hurt. OY! what a week!!! I think I need a do-over!

Happy Birthday Bree!!!

Sorry about that egg salad ICK! Hopefully your weekend will turn around and you'll have a fabulous birthday celebration. Hoping Lucas continues to get all the way better. I know that annoying sick v. really sick difference. Poor Momma!

Try to look at the cupcake as only eating half of a cupcake instead of half of a cake! Might help ya feel a bit better about it!

WW peeps: The group is created. Send me your WW online id so I can friend you on WW and then invite you to the group!

Ok, I know I said I was going to start tracking calories this week, but that hasn't happened yet. Monday afternoon my brother fell about 10ft off a ladder at work, and fractured both of his wrists. Went into surgery around 8pm that night to repair them (pins and an external fixator on both), and is still in the hospital. Yesterday, DH was off, so we took DD to the movies and out for lunch, then had dinner at a church meeting. This morning I had to get up & out early for a doctor's appointment. Whew! So no Sparking yet, but I have at least been keeping track of what goes in.

Monday August 16:

August 16, 17, 18 tracking complete

As for my appointment this morning, I got the results back from my MRI and bloodwork. Radiologist report said "suspicious for discitis" with which my doctor concurs on the imaging, but said that my bloodwork doesn't support that thought, although the fact that I am on daily antibiotics for UTI prevention could be keeping it in check enough to not raise my white blood cells. He's sending me to see my neurosurgeon for another opinion as to whether or not I need a biopsy to check for the discitis.

While I was there, I took advantage of the opportunity to weigh in. (For those new to the group, my access to wheelchair scales is rather limited.) I'm down 1 pound!!! Now granted that's from about a month ago, but that was a month in which I wasn't tracking at all, and even if I were, I'll take every pound I can get! Since I'm going back in exactly 1 week, I'm going to hit things really hard to see how much I'm capable of doing in a week's time.

Now off to go clean the kitchen, then go do Biggest Loser on the Wii!

Holy crap, I did it!! :scared1: My husband is going to freakin' KILL me when he finds out but I went ahead and booked a trip to Disney from January 1st to the 5th!! I fudged the budget and can come up with everything but the $900 for the plane tickets without delving into any of the regular budget money.

Now how to I break it to him??

So excited and yet....so terrified!! :scared1::eek:

Happy Birthday Bree...sorry to hear about the sickies (yourself included) at your house. Hope tomorrow is better for you. :thumbsup2

You can totally spin this as a reward for weight loss. New Year, New You!

You got this in the bag!

YAYAY for booking another trip!!

I thought our 4 day trip was gonna be a let down, not enough time to do stuff. Boy was I wrong! LOVED IT! So much so that its made me reconsider little 4 day trips over long weekends during the school year. Sure it's a different kind of trip, but it's still a great kind of trip!

I wanna know deets! Hit me up on chat or direct me to a PTR!

:bday: Bree!! Sorry it's not going too well thus far, when you do get to go out and celebrate have a great time!

Julie - I am simultaneously jealous of you because now you have a trip coming up soon, and doing the happy dance for you! Better bring back lots of pictures and get your TR on! party:

Aimee - Hips & Curves...I am OBSESSED with that website since I found it in June. I've already ordered from them 3 times. I figure it'll be a while before I even get down to a 1x, let alone being unable to wear their stuff entirely. I really want one of their corsets though, talk about SEXAY! I'm gonna hold off on making that purchase, because I imagine I will lose some weight around my waist, and I don't want to buy something that pricey when it might not fit me in a few months!

Had a bad day, comfort eating engaged at dinner w/ cajun/creole takeout...probably over calories, definitely over carbs. :guilty:

Julie – I’d love some great low cal recipes! I WILL get that recipe program installed on my computer and start putting all the great recipes that I’ve collected on the boards. I thought you sounded like you were on the verge of booking a Dis trip. Now we just have to brainstorm where you could make up the last $900.

Bree – I’m sorry your birthday wasn’t a wonderful experience. Hopefully you are both feeling better. I hope you are able to celebrate this weekend with all of your family healthy.

Elizabeth – Great news about the loss! I hope you don’t have to go in for a biopsy (that just sounds painful – but if you do at least hopefully you will have an answer). I hope your brother has a speedy recovery. My Dad broke both of his wrists when he was in his 60s and the poor thing had a hard time doing anything with casts on both arms.

Food Log
Breakfast – toast w/rf peanut butter and banana
Lunch – Subway turkey sandwich & baked lays
Snack – Dove Ice Cream Bar & Nectarine
Dinner – Bacon sandwich & sweet potato fries
Dessert – frozen strawberry bar

Not doing the best on food, but I am logging it so I guess that's one good thing. No exercise again today. Came home and cooked dinner and then jumped back into cleaning the house for Jim's niece coming this weekend. I put together a lasagna (unfortunately I didn't have time to try and experiment with other items, I just had to get it done quickly) for tomorrow night. Right after work I've got a fundraising meeting for Steven's school and then come home hopefully before Sarah gets here in time to set the table for dinner. It was so cute Steven asked if he could invite his GF Jenny over for dinner so he could introduce Jenny and her Mom to Sarah. I'm really going to try and take pictures this weekend and post them.

Next week we are going to REALLY jump back into the diet/exercise routine. Jim had his physical on Friday and the only thing that the Dr. wanted him to do was to lose some weight and watch his diet (his blood sugar was a little over normal and she says he is pre-diabetic). Since his cousin has Type 1 diabetes she really wants him to get his numbers under control. She gave him a referal to a nutritionist (he has a different Dr. than I do and I'm really thinking of switching, for all the times that I've been to my Dr. complaining that I'm having a hard time losing weight she has never offered a referral to the nutritionist).

Anyway - my goal for the remainder of this week is to control eating (and up my protein). We'll be doing a lot of walking this weekend when we take Sarah to SF to see the sites. I'll probably not be on tomorrow with everything going on, I'll try and catch up on Friday during lunch.

Okay, I'm not going to beat myself up on the lack of excercise last night. We did pick beans in the garden and by the time we got back (and grabbed Subway sandwiches), we all had gotten a rash and very itchy. I decided to skip the walk and shower right away. So, I'll just have to keep up my walking the rest of the week to meet my goal.
Been a busy week and no sign of that changing soon. I skimmed the posts, but no time to comment. Hope everyone is doing well, that everyone who hasn't been well is feeling better, and we all keep up the good work with tracking. :thumbsup2 Have a great day!!!
