I think the desk is on Deck 4, close to the elevators. They are there a lot of hours, but when they're not you can leave a card for a quote and they will call your stateroom with the price. Then you can just call back or visit the desk to take care of business. Much more crowded the last day of the cruises.
Noone is at the desk for the first couple days on a 7 day cruise. I find it best to use the quote request form the first afternoon. Just put it in the box. We got a call from her the second day out that way. She left a vm on our room phone. We were able to take care of everything that way.
frankly, the desk is empty more than it's not. the CM that does the onboard rebooking also managers the internet cafe. they're kept hopping. sometimes you're better off filling out the card and letting them get back to you.
I would totally agree -- trying to rebook at the desk can be a bit crazy. Do your research ahead of time and use the form, and let him call you with the quote(s).
