When can we start eating

I will be traveling to Disney and staying on property for the first time in July of this year . I will also be using the deluxe dining plan for the fist time as well. My question is if we arrive early can we check in (even if we won't get assigned a room) and start using the dining plan, or will we have to wait till after 4.

You can use it immediately after check in wether your room is ready or not. We went last year and got there before "check in time" but were offered all of our tickets, room cards, and dining plan.

You can check in as soon as you arrive and use your dining credits and park tickets from the time you check in, whether or not your room is ready.
