When can someone transfer me their next year's points?

I know these transfer and rental questions get old, but the hound dog search thing is no help at all.

I want to rent an OKW grand villa for the third week in January 2009, which means I will need to make a reservation around Feb. 20, 2008. See, I'm thinking ahead!

My options are to have someone else rent the villa for me, which is not my first choice, since it's a long time to have a rental just hanging out there. OR, I can have someone transfer me the OKW points and I can reserve it myself.

Exactly WHEN can someone transfer me the points that I can use to make this reservation at the 11-month window? Since points are only good for a year it seems like I will only be able to use points which have just been issued to make my reservation. Or am I just stuck having to have someone else make this reservation for me?

Some of the answer may depend on the Use Year of the other member - but basically you can have a member transfer points from their 2007 Use Year into your 2007 Use Year (regardless of the Use month) or have someone transfer their 2008 points into your 2008 Use Year. This may be done at any time.

You should also remember that transferred points may be banked to get an additional year of use from them - so as long as the points and banked even 2007 Use Year points could be used to make a reservation for January, 2009.

You will need to find an OKW owner for the transfer as only Home Resort points may be used 11 months ahead and transferred points will retain their original Home Resort status and Use Year.
