I just got back this past Saturday from a 7 day stay at WDW, and I'm ready to start planning my next trip! We're not going again until May, 2006. I know a lot of you plan ahead of time also, but when can I start? 1 year in advance?

Also, can you share past experiences during that time? Crowds? Weather?
Thanks! I know I'm insane!!!

Hey! I'll be right there with you in May 2006! We are planning for May 20th through May 29th. Isn't it torture to have to wait that long till your next WDW fix! I've been waiting since June 2004 and I've still got a while to go! :sad2:

I'm already putting away the money for our next trip....since we're going to the Poly for the first time, it's gonna be pretty pricey!

Other than that, I'm just waiting to get back from my vacation this summer (which will put me at 11 months to go) before I start any real planning.

In the meantime, I'm just crusing the boards getting ideas for my next trip!

See ya around! :wave2:

Oh huns! We got back 12/7/04 and on 12/10/04, I started planning our 12/06 trip!! Of course, the REAL fun doesn't start until a year before we leave, but hey, there's always stuff to do and threads to read.

624 days and counting :goodvibes

Start planning now. I have been planning for almost a year, half the fun is changing this or that!! Everyday there's something "new" to add (not that there is a new ride or attraction, but a new to you as a family) or something we can avoid this year and give something else a whirl!!

That's when I started planning for our May '06 trip!

:teeth:

LOL!

But actually, we started talking about dates a few months ago. Then we got everyone on board just recently so now it's official. :cool1:

In June, we'll book our flights (with FFM).

Then once we have the actual dates, we will start getting our housing accomodations taken care of. We'll book the rental car early and will keep adjusting as we find new codes.

I usually have a 6 month to do list, which will include major purchases like a new suitcase or camera/video recorder and buying new running/walking shoes and breaking them in.

There's so much to do, even now. You can start checking for park hours, temperatures (:sunny: or :cold: ), special events that you'd like to do.

And of course, if you're like us, the sooner you start saving for Disney, the better off you'll be when trip time comes around. I've already started my envelopes for MYW tickets, food and rental car. :cheer2: I actually like to put away a few bucks a week, then before I know it, everything will be paid for and it won't hurt my pocket so much! ::yes::

Go for it!

Plan as early as possible..although I am not sure if they are excepting ressie's yet...(anyone?) I was there in may 2004 last week in may and it was perfect aside from a little rain (approx 10 min a day) It was hot (85)but not unbearable and the croud level was also not horrible we did need to utilize fastpass but the lines were not that bad...have fun! :wave2:

I am planning our 6/06 trip already :cloud9: I have already decided which parks to go to, which resort to stay at and I have a binder full of printouts with all the helpful info I've found so far (mostly thanks to this unbelievably helpful board!) :disrocks:

I am booking our rooms the first week in May and hope to have them completely paid off by next April. All 4 of my DDs have agreed to give up their usual gigantic B-day parties this year to help save for the trip ~ this really will help a lot as I tend to go overboard on B-day parties :rolleyes1

This will be our first trip down to WDW (except for one DD ~ lucky girl) so the excitement is a little bit out of control here right now ~ I hope this year flies by!! :goodvibes

I would book today and have it payed off before you even go!!

We just got home from our "once in a lifetime" trip to Disney, and we weren't even off the ground in the plane, when hubby said "you know, I am not totally against another trip next year...."

Which is as close as he gets to excited!

He has allready budgeted for a longer stay next year, and has told me only camping this summer!

I am allready excited about planning another trip...this one was so fun to do. Thank goodness the trip lived up to all the hype and expectations....

We even had as good a view of animals from our room as the video shows! (that was my biggest worry, that we would have a sucky view...and we had an awesome one!)

I think you are infected with some kind of virus while down there....it makes you crazy until you can go back!

We are planning on march again...and I don't know when they will let you book, but I will probably wait until summer.

Hey nanabug, I was at WDW in June 04 also, and again last week!

Well I guess, I'm not alone! I can't do too much planning now, since I won't know th exact week until the end of April at the earliest. And right now it's just me and DH and my parents, but who knows who else will tag along! Plus, DH and I have a timeshare in Key West, and we might try split our week and spend time there. We'll see!

Thanks for the advice, I can't wait to get started:-) I like the idea of starting to save now. Actually I started a second savings account for that very purpose before my last trip. And we also put spare change in a jar, and that gave us an extra $100!

I've been slowely looking up info on these boards but am ready to start getting more serious now! I can't wait. :cool1:

Just out of curiosity: How far in advance can you book a reservation? I asked this on another thread, but havent gotten a response. I'm the type that wants to book ASAP and worry about codes later.

WE went in May 16-23 last year. The crowds were not too bad. We only had to use Fast Pass on the Jungle Cruise. Weather was upper 80's low 90's, and it only rained 1 time for about 2 hours.

Some one we know went 2 weeks after us and he said the crowds were insane, but that was right after memorial day. you should have a nice visit early-mid may.

have fun planning :wave2:

We went the end of January and were already talking about when we would go back on the drive home. Before we were out of Florida we had January 07 picked out and I have been reading the boards still(like I ever stopped.lol) and plotting and planning things we will do when we go again.
Between reading here and listening to live365 I feel like I am still partially there.

When we returned from Disneyland two years ago, I started planning our upcoming trip to WDW! (Of course, we were lucky enough to have an intervening trip to DLP!)

Now""""""
I usually go in july and i am planning my next trip for first wk in may
for 7 days and then 4 day cruise on the wonder. I went in 2004 for 7and3 and soon as i hit the ground, i was already planning 2006. To take it a step furthur , My daughter is" p " with child and i am already thinking of 2010 when the baby will be of good age. I have a seperate fund for all of that so by then i will have saved a good bit (Limo to Airport and back) On both ends. so Yesss i h  ave wdw syndrome""""

I may be crazy...but we just decided to go back in the late 2006!! My mom just lost her Husband of nearly 20 years (Cancer) and I thought maybe this is something we could occupy her time with by starting to plan now. My DD, DH and Mother have already warned me to not over plan for the next 18 Months or they won't go! :confused3

I'm hoping to go May 7-15 '06 as a graduation gift to myself and my boys! That's provided I can save up the money in time, though! Crossing my fingers for sure (being a broke student stinks)! :rotfl:

Can you get MYW tickets for longer than 7 days?

We're not going again 'til October '06 (snif!) and dh and I have already saved up over half the money. Once I've got it all saved up, it's going to be hard not to jump the gun and go early, LOL!!

Fortunately, for me, planning is a big part of the fun! :)
